Black & Decker B2200 Breadmaker

How can this unit be opened for repair to the drive chain that makes noise and seems to be slipping? Have removed all six screws from the bottom metal base and have tried to pry open at the joint between two plastic (grey & white) sections but it cannot be opened. Any tips please?

I just bought a new b2250 machine from Zellers for $59 dollars, they also have the b2000 for the same price. It's not worth your time to mess around trying to fix these things.

Black & Decker B2200 2lb Breadmaker. The Shaft falls out - nylon washer?

Question edited for clarity, add maker.

Most parts are discontinued and I can't find a parts diagram. This article is the most helpful one. It sounds like you need a new paddle so it fits the shaft better, or you have too many nylon washers and the shaft isn't sitting deep enough in the paddle. All my bread is made by hand, no machines and hand kneaded. The dough proves in the oven with just the light on. Breadmaking is fun.

We haven't used our Black & Decker B2200 breadmaker for a few years. When we did, liquid and uncooked flour were left at the end of the cooking process. Could this be due to lack of use? If

When your machine started kneading did you notice if the ingredients were actually mixing? Sometimes the drive belts on bread machine break and there is no mixing (the paddle doesn't spin around)

At what time can I remove the paddle before my B&D breadmaker bakes the loaf?

The Use and Care Manual for your Black & Decker B2250 All-In-One Automatic Breadmaker can be dowloaded in PDF from the following link:

Follow a recipe similar to that for Dinner Rolls on Page 19 where you would use the Dough Setting to allow the dough to be removed for shaping and baking in your regular oven.

I have a Black and Dekker all-in-one Breadmaker B2200. The manual has very few recipes so I often use the recipes from my previous Breadmaker B1650. It had an Add Ingredients alert (to let you add nuts...

NO, it;s better to wait until kneading has started. If it has a second kneading add then. If not, add in a few minutes after ingredients have started mixing. Just lift the lid and drop them in as it mixes.

Dough not rising

Hi,
Are you using yeast that has not past it's expiry date? Using bread machine yeast that has not past it's expiry date will give you better results. I switched to the bread machine yeast and had much better results. Also make sure the ingredients are for the right size loaf. The ones that come with your breadmaker are made specificaly for your machine. Make sure you are choosing recipes that are in the same quantities for the bread cycle you are choosing. I hope this helps. I have included the link to the manual for your machine in case you don't have one.
