No. During operation the pole saw will draw 960w. With an extension cord you will have some loses that will kick you to the edge of it's operating limit.

The biggest problem is when you start the pole saw it will draw 2 to 3 times it's running current, putting it at 1920w.

Sorry but no.

How many running watts will the saw take, I am buying a small generator and need to know the size I need.

The largest remington pole saw is an 8 amp model which would take about 900 W on a 110 v supply.
The 6 inch model takes 6 amps wich would be about 700 watt.
It's probably best to oversize your generator to about 2kva then you can use it to power lights and other power tools etc

Where can I get brushes and at what cost?

Parts for Remington saws are few and far between. Brushes are a common failure point and those available have about been bought up. You best chance is to check with a well-stocked hardware store or an electric tool repair shop for a similar brush from a different tool. You may have to modify something similar to fit. Good luck!

The switch of the saw is not working 00

You need an AC voltmeter to trace the problem with the switch. It can also be a bad motor brush/spring--these saws are great for killing motor brushes, and there are virtually no replacements available as Remington has ceased saw operations. If it is a bad brush, visit an electrical tool shop to see if they have something that will work from a different brand of tool. Good luck!

Am I wise to purchase a Remington Pole Saw or should look for another manufacturer? Which Remington Pole Saw would you purchase: a. 18V Cordless b. 10" Electric

Remington Saws have ceased operations and, unless you like to make your own replacement parts, they are prone to failure. The gearbox is sealed and the motor brushes are not available anywhere. Look elsewhere!

Where can I find a bar & chain for a remington

You provide no model number for your saw. What is pictured is a RPS96.
Remington.com
http://www.desaparts.com/index.htm
  • Type "YourModelNo" (RPS96) into the "Model #:" window, then click search.
  • Click the YourModelNo - Remington Electric Chain Saw "View Model" link.
  • Click “View Owners Manual” or "View Illustrated Parts Breakdown" link.
There are 8, 10, 12 and 14" chains on the IPB depending on the actual model pole saw. RemingtonPower is no longer in production, and parts are often difficuilt to find. All 4 chains listed are available and range form $12.92 to 15.95 plus shipping and handling. You can take your saw (or just the chain) to a local saw outlet and have one fabricated in about 5 minutes. It is rarely more expensive at a local outlete and you save shipping and handling fees. HTH
