Lanier 5613 copier paper sensor

The plastic sensor piece that is connected to the paper compartment and the machine is disconnected. I plugged the male and female parts into each other , but I cannot see how the piece sits in the paper compartment itself. Also, how do I take the machine apart in order to reach back into the machine to connect everything? Thanks--Jackie

If you are talking about the sensor in the paper tray tape the sensor so it is "actuated" and tuck it in the slot near by, the only problem you will have is the copier wont know when you are out of paper. The switch mounts break.

Cannot insert Tray 1 into the machine. it says to "Reset Tray 1 correctly". What are they saying.

It is not seeing tray in the machine. Might be a piece of paper stuck behind the tray stopping it from going in and stopping it from detecting the tray?

Reads "machine error af"

There is something wrong with the document feeder. Check if there are no pieces of paper stuck somewhere, and that any sensors are not stuck (sensors are usually small plastic pieces, that are lifted up when a sheet of paper moves below it).

Paper is jamming

When you say startup, do you mean when you turn the machine on or when you attempt to print?

For the first, check to see if there isn't any small piece of paper stuck anywhere in the paper path. for the second condition, clean off the feed roller with a piece of cloth dampened with alcohol.

Lanier 6725 copier: Paper is always jamming and

I have worked for Lanier for 20 years, the 6725 was a great machine, but getting parts, spending $$$ and still having an old copier. Lanier is owned by Ricoh and all machines are Ricoh with a Lanier sticker on it. Its time.
-Carl, please let me know if this helps.

Misfeed on lanier 7320

Sounds like a dirty sensor or a small piece of paper stuck. Check the feeder, left side, underneath. There should be a switch actuator
in the paper path that is visible. Also, on the right side, check all of the openings for anything stuck. If you have no luck, get some canned air and blow out everything. If its still jammed, it can be easily unplugged in the back of the machine, and the machine section will still operate.

If you open the duplexer cover, you will see a photo interupt sensor on the right. Stick a piece of paper in it. Take the waste bottle out, so you can see the inside of the duplexer. Turn the machine on. A minimal amount of waste toner will fall, and can be easily cleaned up. There are two stacker guides in the duplexer. One stacks lengthwise, the other widthwise. If memory serves me correctly, the horizontal guide not moving, or the sensor not sensing movement causes that error. If the guide moves, the sensor is probably dirty or bad.
