Here are some tips if your DVD player can't play DVD+ RW:

1. In order to play a DVD-R, DVD+R, or DVDRW disc, a DVD player must be compatible with those recording formats.
2. Ensure that the recording speed used to create the disc is supported by the DVD player.
3. This procedure assumes that the DVD-R, DVD+R, or DVDRW disc being used is not blank.
4. If additional model specific information is required to complete any of these steps, refer to the operating instructions provided with the player or recorder, or the help files of the computer software used to create the disc.
5. Ensure that the disc has been inserted into the player correctly.
6. Examine the DVD for fingerprints, smudges, or scratches and, if necessary, clean the disc using a soft dry cloth.
7. Ensure the disc has been properly created and finalized.
8. Ensure the DVD region code and format of the disc is compatible with the player.
9. Ensure the disc playback is not being restricted by parental control options.

If you still can't play that DVD on your DVD player, you can try to copy it to ISO file and play it on computer instead. Here I found a tutorial for help: How to Back Up DVD to ISO?

Which recordable dvds play on this dvd player

this brand and model should be able to play the discs you mentioned witih no problems, unless it is defective, or a error is being made when you are recording the discs. If you are recording and they ar enot playing, most likely you are not "finalizing" the discs durring the burn processs. All discs MUST BE finalized to be played on any dvd player.

Dvd/cd-rw combo does not record

You may have what is called a combo drive...it can play and burn cds but can only play dvds, not burn them. Look at the face plate on the drive and see what is written on it. If it has the following:
Recordable Drive = CD Burner
DVD = DVD Player
RW & DVD = DVD Burner

If recordable drive and DVD is on the drive but no RW, chances are its a combo drive. Keep us posted.

Hitachi dvd player not reading all dvds

Hello, I'm here try and help your problem, first older DVD players only read certain disc formats, If you have your owners manuel to your DVD player it will tell you what types of discs the DVD player will play. There are seneral types of burnable disc's DVD -, DVD +, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, please looking in the owners manual for the types of discs that the player will read, also in the same secton it will tell the types of formats that it will read DVD Video, DVD ROM, and there is a few others, Next is when you burn DVD's the type of burner you have makes a difference. You will need to find out what format your DVD burn, burns to disc, some of the newer DVD players
read alot of the formats. I would start by finding out what your DVD burns first, then I would suggest buying a DVD player that will read that format. If you have anyother questions please feel free to post them, Thank You and have a great day.

Burned DVDs play on PC but won't play on home player. I have 3 PC (2HPs and 1 Parts built),running XP home, pro, media. I bought 2 Samsung SH-S182 DVD±RW Dual Layer Burner, and have tried them on all 3...

Nero 6 and 7 does not provides us the facilitiy of burning the DVD in appropriate DVD Format. Instead it burns the DVD in the normal DATA Format, which is not supportable by our DVD Player. To play the DVD in our DVD Player we should burn the DVD in the appropriate DVD Burner which itself converts the extension of the movie and make it proper for a DVD Player to read it. It also adds some files to the DVD which is sometimes used by the dvd player in running the DVD.

Thank You
