Vizio 42 TV will not power off. Powers off for a few seconds and turns itself back on. It is hooked into a Dish Network system. I had it at a different location with Dish Network and didn't have this problem. I have tried Vizio remote and Dish remote with the same results. Any suggestions?

For my universal remote control's manual, all of the VIZIO codes are:
11758
13758
12757
Also, remember that you can have the remote scan for codes on its own. On the remote just hold the "TV" control button (should be at the top near the power button) and the power button turns on. Then hold the power button too, and it shuts back off; keep holding until it turns back on and then it will stay on. Then, point the remote at the TV (it should be on) and press the power button every three seconds. It will test a code every two or three seconds. When your TV finally shuts itself off in response, you've got the right code and the remote should work.
Hi Justine, my name is Kimberly and I form part of the Social Media Department with DISH. I regret the inconvenience you are experiencing with our receiver. Please unplug the box from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds, plug it back in and allow it to power back on by itself. After the receiver powers back on, it will acquire signal and download the guide, the issue should be resolved. If the issue persists then we would need to look into replacing the receiver. You can reach me at: [email protected] for further assistance.

About the only thing you could try would be to reset both the dish receiver and the tv. Disconnect both from electrical power source, (unplug) after a minute or so, plug them back in and try again. if neither works then you may have had some type of power surge.
Be certain your tv is in the right source, however the tv has been connected to your receiver.
The easiest way to connect this is to find the cable going from the receiver to the TV and disconnect it from the TV. Connect this cable to the back of the stereo receiver where it says "in" or "input". Next take another cable and connect it from the stereo receiver output to the TV.
We have a 42" Model XV42L HDTV10A 100-240V,2.5A,50/60HZ....when we turn the TV on the screen is flickering and then shuts itself off....sometimes it will come on for a few seconds and then shuts off
Check you cables. make sure that the Dish Box is hooked up and if you are run'n your cables from the Dish Box to the DVD player then you will have to keep the player on.
One week old? did you ever think about taking it back to the store where you bought it?? would be my first choice. unless you want a bunch of crazy answers or taking it to an authorized repair shop and waiting a few months for parts to come in and more time for the repair to take place.
you might have a grounding issue or electrical power. dish receivers need a specific amount of volts, what you can do is take an extension cord n connect it to the rcvr and take the other end of the extension cord n plug it in on another outlet in another ROOM, then see if it powers on , if it does something is wrong w/ the outlet even if u have A tv or other appliace plugged in, if it doesnt turn on then call dish network n get replacement receiver
