Not recognizing memory card in slot

I have a Lexmark X5650 printer/fax/scanner. When I insert memory card from camera into the memory card slot, the printer does not flash or anything, the card reader light stays green and it tells me there is no memory card in slot. What am I doing wrong?

Lexmark x5650 cannot retrieve application list

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Memory info retrieving from lexmark x5630 fax machine

Usually, faxes are temporarily sent to the printer's memory when one of the cartridges' ink level is not substantial for printing at the instance of receiving the fax. When this happens, try to replace the cartridge(s), *without navigating away from the message "fax sent to memory", by opening the printer cover and replacing the low-ink or empty cartridge(s). After the new cartridge is installed, close the printer cover and press the OK button. Your printer should then print the fax stored in the memory.
*Make sure not to navigate away from the "fax sent to memory" message, otherwise, data will be lost.

Printer will not recognise camera memory card hp p315 photo printer

Was your Lexmark P315 printer able to detect this particular memory card before? Try to re-insert the card - it could be due to a slight communication problem. Have you tried inserting a different known working compatible memory card into the printer's card slot? This could be due to faulty memory card.
Also, please refer to Memory Cards Supported by the Lexmark P315 Photo Jetprinter.

Lexmark X5650 says faxes in memory. Already went to another mode. How do I get faxes out of memory?

Once you navigate away from the fax mode when a fax message goes into memory, you will lose the message. If this happens again, try not to navigate away from the fax mode. The "fax in memory" message usually pops up when the printer's not able to continue printing the fax due to a very low ink level. Just open the printer (w/o navigating away from the fax mode) > replace the ink cartridges > close the cover > print the fax.

Our printer will not recognize our memory card. We are inserting it in #3 slot. This card was used in a Cannon EOS 60D camera. It will pull up cards from another camera.

Try reading the card with another device such as a computer card reader, also make sure there isn't some sort of lock switch on the card. If the card will not read in another device it is probably faulty and needs to be replaced.

How do you load a lexmark X5650 all in one printer, copy, photo, scan, and fax? I am trying to figure out how to load the fax to send the fax to someone.

Sending a fax using the printer control panel:
  1. Make sure the printer is on and is connected to a working phone line.
  2. Load an original document faceup into the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) or facedown on the
    scanner glass.
  3. From the printer control panel, press the Fax button.
  4. Enter a fax number, or press Address Book to select a number from the Speed Dial or Group Dial list.
  5. Press Color or Black to select a color or black-and-white fax.
  6. Press Start to send the fax job.
