GE ESS25XGMB Ice tray dispenser not turning.

GE ESS25XGMB Ice dispenser not turning. We recently had to completely defrost our freezer in order to fix a plugged drain. We removed everything, including the ice tray, in the process. After defrosting for 48 hours, it seems to be draining now (YAY!) but in putting everything back in, the ice dispencer is no longer giving ice. The coil/spiral inside the ice tray no longer turns. Suggestions? TIA, -Brian

In the future you can use a steamer to defrost that drain line takes 5 minutes. I don't think your bucket is sitting correctly check and make sure it has contact with the auger motor and is not sitting too high. If you hear the motor turning but the coil is not its not seated correctly. Also it will not move if the door is open.

I have a ge adora fridge that when pressing the lever for ice makes a loud humming noise & feels like freezer wants to explode. Cab anyone tell me if they have ever run into this issue

You probably have a ice dam in your ice tray. The anger is trying to dispense if but if the cubes have frozen together and produced a large chunk of ice it cannot break up. Open the freezer door completely and lift up and pull out through ice tray. Remove ice until dam removed. Reassert tray and make sure to turn ice maker back on. It is essy to inadvertently bump switch. Try dispensing ice to see. If noise went away.
Hope this helped!

I have a MN - TFX24PRXB - BB GE Side by side refrigerator. The Ice maker does not make ice anymore. I have tested the water valve and it is working. If I turn the gears it will start the process to...

Check for freezer temp - if it is not 10 degrees or below the ice maker thermostat will not turn the ice maker cycle on by removing the frozen ice in tray and then refilling it for next dump cycle. And if freezer temp is high you may have leaking door gasket, dirty condenser coils, improperly operating self defroster which raises temps, low refrigerant.

GE refrig/freezer dispenser makes ice, but no dispensing of water

The dispensor water line , is probably trying to freeze , inside the door . raise the freezer control slightly warmer , to keep this from happening . May take 2 or 3 raisings to find the proper temp . Also , you can order a dispensor heat kit , pt # WR49X10173 , which comes with installation instructions .

GE 24 Profile refrigerator: The freezer part

my refrigerator goes into auto defrost every 60hrs for 45 minutes or till the bi metal(defrost thermostat) says it had enough....recently i had ice built up on the coil because my defrost thermostat was stuck open...

ice builds up because the moisture that comes from opening the door or food condenses on the cold coil...tempurature of the coil is below 32 degrees which will ice up the condensed moisture...

defrost is timed to remove this build up

Ice Buildup in Bottom of Freezer

Hi: The tube in the back of the freezer is not clogged with ice. It is most likely clogged with mold below the freezer section just above the warm tray where the defrost water evaporates. Also a pea or other piece of debris could have gotten in there. Do your thawing again and pour some clorox water through it and use a pipe cleaner if it's a tough clog. I hope this helps, Jeff

GE refrigerator GSS25JFMCWW not dispensing ice but dispense water

I have the same problem with the same unit. I removed the ice tray and held the open door cut-off switch closed. I then pressed the lever to dispense ice. I hear a humm like power is getting to the motor but the motor is not turning. I hear a click like the selonid is engaging. I'm having to assume at this point it's the motor and I am going to go ahead and order a motor. I've found a motor for the unit at partselect.com for $65.54. Hope this helps you.
