Last wash worked fine. Put machine on today and nothing happens. The lights are on, the clock is counting down but no water is coming in. I have switched it off waited 5 mins & tried again with the same result. I have also tried it in just the spin cycle & the drum is not turning.Help please!

Replace brushes on motor it is really easy to do. Take top off washer and you can get to motor quite easily. Mine running like a dream now. cost me £8

sound like the contact points on the timer are probebly dirty or arched to where they are not making good contact. you can take and clean them with a piece of emery cloth if you are mechanically inclined and can take the timer apart. Also there's a set of contacts down by the motor ti check too.
Good Luck,

Do you hear the motor spinning loud whirring noise, when drum is not,if so drum belt has come off or snapped,if no noise possible brushes on motor need replacing

My wife had the same problem last night. This morning when I turned the m/c on, there was a lot of noise and when I looked underneath, loads of sparking. Closer investigation shows I need new brushes and I imagine that if the drum on your machine is not turning, you do too.
However you said that you can hear the motor? That may indicate a belt problem instead. get someone to turn the machine on it's side and manually turn the drum. If the motor rotates it isn't a belt problem and someone needs to test/repair your motor.
Hope that helps a little.
