I received a set of the jabra headsets and discovered that the indicator light doesn't stay on while charging. I have just repaired my bt250 with this problem, i hadn't used it for around 2 years and when i put it on charge just got i flash of blue led. the fix was to "jumpstart it" the headset needs to se some sort of battery voltage to start the charging process, i stripped mine right down but that was just to fiddley. IF YOU DO THIS IT WILL BE ENTIRLEY AT YOUR OWN RISK AND I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU TRASH YOUR OTHERWISE USELESS HEADSET. ok all you need to do is very carefully remove back cover (undo 1 screw and ease it apart). be very carefull as there are delicate wires inside. lift the inner part out slowly and you will see the battery.it has some orange tape around the end and there is a small circuit board attached to it with a small red wire and a small black wire. look at the battery and you will see under the orange tape there are to larger tags.these are the main battery terminals, peel back the orange tape just until the tags are slightly exposed. now you need to solder a wire to each of them and DON'T TOUCH THEM TOGETHER. on the battery it says which tag is + and which is - make sure you mark your wires or get red and black ones. now i used the lead from the charger. look at it . it has a hole in the center of the pin that is the + so put the + wire in there. if you are not sure use a volt meter. now touch the - wire to the outer metal of the connector that is the - point on the charger connector. hold this for around 2 mins but no more. as the out put of the connector is 6.2v and the battery is only 3.7v the battery will get warm. if the battery is getting too hot in under 2 mins then take of charge. when you have done that and taken off the connector i recommend to use a volt meter and just put it on the battery wires you soldered on to check battery voltage. as long as it reads you should be ok. de solder your wires from the tags and rebuild headset then try and charge it. this worked for me. i am no electronics expert i just like to mess with broken stuff so i know it seems a bit dodgy to connect like this but i had nothing to lose and it worked.
Spot on, I didn't solder, just held the two wires to the terminals for 1min and it came to life and now charges. Thanks a mil.
Bang on mate ,
stripped two ends of the wire twist that came wrapped around charging lead .
twisted end round outer of charging adapter and pushed other end through yellow plastic onto - of battery connection ,
then got sowing needle in inside connection of adapter and poked the pin end through yellow tinted plastic against positive connector for ten seconds
held headset together and slid back in charger and blue light stayed on
so reassembled and works superb
I had not used this Jabra 250 in years and had the same problem-would not charge. I followed the instructions from dididocky and like magic the blue light appeared and the unit fully charged within a couple of hours. Many,many thanks.
I pulled out my old Jabra BCE 250 after something like 5 or 6 years in the drawer. It wouldn't charge. I found this post and it worked great. Thanks much!
Fantastic solution. Even better than using solder - just insert a pin into the ve centre of the AC adapter and use this to touch the ve battery terminal, whilst holding the -ve outer against the -ve terminal; works a treat.

i have 2 bt250 with this problem, i opened it up to have a look and im lost i see the prange tape i see the circuit board i cant see no + - and are the bigger tabs on the back of the battery?

i have 2 units same thing took them apart can see orange tape are the + - where the black an red wires are soldered on the circuit board? i can see them on mine! please help
its been 3 years since i done this and to be honest i can't remeber to much without looking at another headset but mine is gone now, you should be able to see the gold looking tabs on the battery and the markings + - are small next to the tabs if you can see through the tape i cant remember but would think there are 2 wires on the battery 1 black 1 red, red is + black - seems its best not to solder solder as i did, read the comments and there are aa few tips there that othres have done to do it. just remember hold wires on for 2 min max probably not need that long

Dididocky, your solution worked perfectly! My only mod was to just hold test lead probes on the battery terminals rather than soldering on wires -- mucho kudos to your solution!!!
I confirmed with Jabra that the headset usses a non-standard battery with integral circuitry, and of course not offered as a replacement part. The best solution is to not purchase products from a manufacturer that sells devices that are known to contain such engineering constraints that limit the product life. As they say, "You buy junk, you get junk."

I was looking for a solution for a similar problem... The circuit on
the internal battery has an issue and I cannot measure the voltage
through it correctly. The battery reads 3,55 V, while the circuit reads
0,55 V. So, I have the same problem as above then... A blue flash and nothing else, no charge... I am going to remove the circuit of the battery and connect it
directly to the charger pins. I believe this will not cause any issues.
At least, I will be able to charge the headset this way. I will post
once more should this method fails.
Just wanted to say thanks to dididocky I had never used my Jabra BT205 and when i dicided to, same problem. You solution worked perfectly.
Dididocky's solution worked perfectly. Just touched a wire from the inside (hole) of the charger plug to the + of the tiny battery tab under the orange tape and the outter ring of the charger plug to the - tab for about 2 minutes. Wha-lah! Blue light is on and the unit charges!!!
Junp starting is great! i just taped the wires on.
waited 5 mins, put it back together and voila!

Yes this device has a battery installed that has a appearant life of maybe two years depending on how often it's used. The battery is approx 1.5 inch in length and is not replacable.
Remarkable it worked a dream - Thanks for the tip. The battery does swell up a little during the charge but this is to be expected I suppose.
Thanks, this helped a lot. My BT250 would not charge. Blue light was steady and flickering, but nothing. I opened up the BT250, dismanteld the battery. I measured 0,34v. So I used some old wires, connected them to the charger and jumpstarted the battery on the larger terminals (flip the circuit board over) for 1 minute. I then measured 3,4v. So no need to solder anything. Repackaged everything and hooked up the charger. BT250 will now turn on and off as usual.
Amazing!! Followed dididocki's solution, blue light back on! No soldering, just held wires in contact for 30 seconds and hey presto!
Didicocky - worked great. Only slight worry was the battery swelled up a little, but I may have left it on too long. Got the blue light on now and chasrging as usual.

I have exactly the same problem. Does the headset have a battery on the inside of it that needs replacing? I have used it in the past and had no issues with charging but after a years in the cupboard it now does the same thing flashes once and then nothing. Does anyone know if it has to have a replacement battery in the headset. Perhaps that's why as it's fairly old now.?????

I bought this as a gift for a friend and they decided it wasn't of much use at the time. When they decided to use it, still brand new it doesn't hold a charge. the blue light doesn't stay on. Is it the charger or the phone?
tried two new ones two days apart ....same issue on both. the company i baught from tells me final sale on all these items....i dont think so ...it was bunked to start with
