The dishwasher runs for as few minutes than blips and all the lights are flashing and F78 appears on the dishwaher timer window

Check Fault Codes
If the display lights are flashing and there
is an error code in the display window, check the wiring diagram and
tech sheet in the dishwasher that will provide information on the fault.
Drain Pump
If lights are flashing on the control panel,
the drain pump might not be working properly. For two-wire drain pump
motors check them for continuity using an Ohm meter. If it's defective
You'll need to replace it. Drain pumps are not repairable.

entire touchpad and control panel assembly might be defective. If the
display works but the dishwasher functions are all out of synch, or some
of the buttons don't respond properly the entire touchpad and control
panel might need to be replaced.

touchpad is defective the display lights are flashing randomly.

put some towels dowm and tip the d/w over to one side about 45 degrees if water pours out of the base it means that the d/w is in "flood mode" and you have a leak into the base that will need resolving.

hi from italy, well it happened to me and i fixed it yesterday 14 june 2009. the washer pulls the water and then light 2 and 4 blink. check the heating element under the machine. if you ohm this it should show about 100 ohms or less. the maching dies a system check and if it diesn't see the element it goes into alarm. the element will cost about 28 euro. this element if good for the following machine on the box ariston,indesit,hotpoint,scholtes unplug the machine and take it somewhere to work on ,some water will spill out. you will have to replace the clamps once you pry it off. hope this helps ralph

Welcome to FixYa The first
thing that should be checked is the drain hose and the drain pump operation, if
the drain hose is clean then check the drain pump, if its not working then
replacing it is recommended. Then check the water inlet valve and make sure it
is not clogged and the water is coming inside the unit. After cleaning both
pump and inlet, unplug the unit and plug it back after 15 minutes so that it
