Have you checked the fuse panel for blown fuses? If not, check there first. If so, check to be sure all the wiring harnesses in and around the fuse panel are tight ans secure. If you're really in a pinch and you have rear folding seats you can crawl into the trunk that way.

SOURCE: i can't open the lid

I had a similar problem with my TT Roadster and it was a problem with my central locking system, it temporarily disengaged after a minor incident with the rain while my top was down. Anyway for me it was simply a matter of time before the system reengaged it's self it took maybe a week or so, but to get around the problem, behind your passenger seat there is a storage compartment, pull the lever in the storage compartment to open the trunk, once in the trunk on the left sidewall of the trunk there is a seamless square open that square and there is a black pulley in there, pull on that and your gas tank should open. I hope this help.

SOURCE: 2001 audi tt -- trunk release and gas cap release don't work

Hi, yes there is. To release the trunk - look on the centre console, just rearward of the front seats and you will notice a separate rectangular section in the plastic, if you lift this out you will find a cable release for the trunk underneath. To open the fuel filler cap manually, look inside the car just behind the rear light on the same side as the fuel filler and you will notice a flap in the interior trim, which is to allow access to the rear lamp. Open this and then looking towards the top you should see a loop of orange plastic - pull this towards the rear of the car to release the fuel filler.
Hope that helps Matt..

SOURCE: THE BUTTON IN THE CONSOLE TO OPEN THE GAS CAP AND

I can't promise it, but in my 99 A4 there is a release cable in the trunk. I have to pull the trunk carpeting away on the side where the gas filler door is, and there's a red cable there that can be used as a manual release. I imagine your TT has one as well - look in the hatch on the side with the gas door, and pull the lining back - you'll probably have a release cable as well.

SOURCE: My gas cap and trunk wont open. I need gas.

Take your key and go to the drivers door, make sure the door is unlocked by pulling on the handle, open and close the door. Insert the key and "lock" the door, double check that it is locked by pulling on the handle. Insert the key and "un-lock" the door, use the handle to open the door and now press the fuel door key and it should open, same for trunk release button.

Audi's are a strange breed, sometimes you just need to "re-set" some stuff. But in the future if you lock the car with the key, the fob will unlock the car but the three buttons in the console will not work, the fob will function correctly.

I hope this helps.

2004 grand prix check gas cap light on changed gas cap and still the same problem dont know what to do

Open the trunk, pull the carpet back to reveal the access to the fuel pump. The gas tank pressure sensor is located on top or the fuel pump. The connector has 3 wires, 1 black and 2 colored. Pull the plug off the sensor, put jumper across the 2 colored wires, tape it up with electrical tape. Replace the access cover, the carpet, close the trunk and never see that "CHECK GAS CAP" message again.

Mu daughter ran the car out of gas lastweek, but the car ran after that. the next day the car will not start, there is spark to the car, please help

remove gas filler cap.listen at filler while someone turns key to start.you should hear pump 'hum'.if not, check inertia switch [crash switch] behind carpet on left side of trunk.if it 'hums'check fuel filter,it may be clogged.if pump makes no noise,it may require replacement.modern [plastic] fuel pumps will 'self destruct' if ran dry.gas tank must be removed to replace pump.

Fuel Filter Location

I called the dealer and the dealer said it does not have an in-line fuel filter, but there is one the fuel tank (actually, it is a fuel pump strainer part#FS233 for $10.oo).
Put the rear seats down and open the trunk for ventilation and open the gas cap for gasoline pressure release.
The fuel pump cover is right behind the rear car seats in the trunk.
Be very careful when messing with gasoline. I will be replacing the strainer this weekend, but I plan to siphon out the gasoline before I do (I just feel safer with the tank empty)

Fuel cap and boot release buttons not working

Hello,
I have a 2001 Audi TT Audi TT roadster, 87,000 miles. I love the car, but like all cars, things happen.

Open your checkbook, It is the command module , under your back glass, where the top goes , you will see a small door cut into the felt. Mine got wet and started a whole chain of events.

Seal that Window Good. 800$ repair to replace the comman module.

1. Windows were going up and down 1/4" all random times.
2. The Gas Release and Trunk Release buttons stop working
3. Alarm would go off at odd times.
4. Trunk would not open automatically.

To open the Trunk, behind the passenger seat is a small box, open it with you key and you will see the manual trunk release

To open your gas cap, on the passenger side of the trunk, you will see a small felt opening under the gas cap. Open it and pull back decently hard and the gas cap will open.

Good Luck.
