Mitsubish wd-5275 Sound but no picture

Lamp light came on and we replaced the lamp. When we turned it on we had sound but no picture and it shut down within 5 minutes and the lamp light turned on again. Went back and replaced the lamp again and same thing sound with no picture and the lamp light came on again. Called the store and they said it may be the ballast. Any suggestions?

SOURCE: WD-52525 Lamp failed 2x in 4 months..is it the Lamp?

Having the same problem with the dim picture on my WD-52525. Had the lamp replaced and still had a dim picture. My authorized dealer has been in contact with Mitsubishi Tech Support and they are thinking it's the optical engine (light engine).

If you think the replacement lamps are expensive, wait till you see the price of the optical engine. My dealer told me they run around $750.00! If this is the problem, I'm hoping they will cover it under warranty as the TV is less than 2 years old.

Wd-y65 no picture. Sound for a few seconds then shuts off

Lamp is usually customer replaceable and instructions are in owner manual.

I would to begin with (set unplugged) get at the lamp to inspect it--if shattered inside look for a replacement.

Google the model number with "lamp" to see what is available.

You Tube has video instructions for replacing lamps on most brands and models as well---not have to read just look.

Replace the lamp and turned it on. Once the timer stopped blinking, I turned the set on. No picture, but got sound. Then after a minute or so it shut down with the red lamp light on.

Pull the lamp out and then back in again. That model mitsu can be very hard getting the lamp in just right. It sounds like it is not getting plugged into the ballast all the way. And make sure you put the door back on, because it has a safety switch that will trigger a bad lamp light as well.

that is a common problem with that model you will need the v26 power pwb repair kit and the V26 FMT pwb repair kit. You can get both kits at the following link which includes the replacement capacitors and instructions on where the capacitors are located. Heres the link.
