Have someone check the plug ins on the speakers with a test light for power.If they show to have power, then the speakers are probably bad.make sure the car s ignition switch is in the on /acc mode with the radio on.

Well.... all my books only go back to '78 for the Malibu...

They list 6"x9" in the rear, and 3.5" in the dash.
If there is a single speaker in the center of the dash, it is usually a 4"x6"
