Powered up and no sound on either cd player or tuner
Is the sub woolfer out powered? My sub woolfer is not
SOURCE: i have the denon avr-688
Check your blu-ray connection. Is the HDMI cable going from the player to the receiver, then another HDMI cable going from the receiver to the television? What about your TV input? Is there a cable going from the cable converter box to the receiver's input?
SOURCE: No audio from PS3.
If you are hooking your PS3 through HDMI, there will be no sound since the Denon does not support sound through HDMI. I am using a Fiber Optic cable for my sound.
Then go into your Sound Settings in your PS3 and select what sound source you are using.

IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO CONNECT ANALOG AUDIO IN ADDITION TO THE OPTICAL, COAXIAL OR HDMI AUDIO CONNECTION. IF USING OPTICAL OR COAXIAL CONNECTIONS BE SURE TO CONFIGURE IT IN THE RECEIVERS DIGITAL ASSIGNMENT AREA IN SETUP.
ALSO, ON THE FRONT OF THE RECEIVER IS AN INPUT MODE BUTTON, PRESS THIS BUTTON UNTIL AUTO IS DISPLAYED
