Aspire 5742 turns on and off contiously

Could be a bad charger. Could also be the laptop itself, I had something very similar happen to one of my laptops. It's a paper weight now, totally dead.

possible cpu failure, power button will light and flash indicating that there is a problem.
battery light will be orange due to charging mode.

press it on without the battery if this does not solve then there is some fault in the motherboard of the laptop better take it to the technician

If the power adapter runs the laptop, it is likely the rechargeable battery needs to be replaced. Go to www.ebay.com Type: make and model of laptop, refine search for battery.

No you shouldn't be. If you're really worried about it though you could always get yourself a laptop cooler.

Hi,
You can try Fn+F3 to bring up the launch manager, by which you can turn on your wireless.

Let me know if that doesn't work.

I have recently bought myself a Acer Aspire 5742
and mine does not have the bluetooth facility built into it
but i have a usb bluetooth dongle if ever i should need it
they are not very dear on ebay

INSERT A LONG NEEDLE IN THE SMALL HOLE NEAR THE CD TRAY AND SIMULTANEOUSLY PRESS THE EJECT BUTTON.THIS WILL PUSH THE CD TRAY OUT.
