Question about Acer Aspire 5742 Notebook
My acer laptop turns on and off continuously, simultaneously, indicators lights up as well...the only way to stop it is to pull off the battery. when i'm turning it on, the screen displays "press f2 to enter setup" and "f12 for boot menu" then it would turn off again.. it's getting better when i'm removing the hard disk.. but of course, i won't be able to use it without my hard disk.. thanks in advance
After you remove the hard disk, did you try to boot the machine with a bootable flash drive or CD/DVD? Booting from a Live Linux disc you create on a different machine (free for download and use) or something like that will determine if the rest of the machine has any issues or not. If it will boot like that, then you may have a faulty hard disk, and need to replace it. I hope you have been backing up your data if this is the case.
