Model # JMV8208BAS

On a GE or Hotpoint, it usually means the keypad is defective. On some other brands, it means there's a sensor error.

Hello my JENN AIR Jenn Air JMV8208BAS Microwave won't turn off properly. When it comes to the end of the cooking time it beeps and the vent at the top closes but it keeps making a noise and it is still...

I would first suggest checking the bottom door switch and its mount.

See these help files:
http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/safety.txt
http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/disassembly.txt
http://031d26d.namesecurehost.com/mwd/doorsw.txt

The full service / installation manual is here.

If it's not a switch issue, you may have a sticking relay on your control board, which can be economically repaired. Details are here.

Lock function reset for model JMV8208BAS

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

If that doesn't work, leave it unplugged for about 5 minutes. Then let us know if the hard reset does not fix it.

The owner's manual is online here and it covers the child lock:

To set the child lock.
Touch and hold
ENTER/START
pad more than 3
seconds. CHILD
LOCK ON will
appear in the display
window with two
beeps.

To cancel the child
lock.
Touch and hold
ENTER/START
pad more than 3
seconds. LOCKED
will disappear and
you hear two beeps.

Not working i see a code (se)

SE error means you have a shorted membrane keypad.

On some models, you can replace just the membrane keypad, which is very inexpensive, but difficult.

On other models, you can replace the plastic control panel frame, which comes with a new keypad already installed.

If I knew your full model number, I could give you the part numbers, prices, and links you need.

Feel free to contact me directly (and include your full model number from the tag on the unit) for more free information & help.
