Hello. Yes, it is quite simple to remove the battery of a Logitech MX Revolution mouse yet for some reason when going through the Logitech product support website it states that it is not possible. Just remove the 4 teflon pads located on the bottom of the mouse and then remove the four screws located under the pads. Once this is done turn the mouse back upright and remove the top off of the mouse. I would suggest temporarily removing the flex cable that holds the top and bottom of the mouse together. There is a small metal clip that holds the battery in place that must now be removed. NOW FOR THE VERY IMPORTANT PART. There are two different generations of the Logitech MX Revolution mouse which have different batteries. The first Generation uses the L-LY11 battery and the newer generation of the MX Revolution uses the L-LL11 battery. There is no way to tell which battery your mouse uses without first opening up the mouse. Once opened you can easily tell which battery your mouse uses. You should definitely determine which battery your mouse uses ahead of time to eliminate any frustration caused by ordering the wrong battery ahead of time.
Acting on advice from another FixYa string, we blew out the mouse and dock several times with canned air. It performed slightly better, but then as we continued to use the mouse it suddenly cleared and is working almost 100% now.
From reading earlier strings, I'm wondering why Logitech (in its product material received on purchase) doesn't recommend this as periodic maintenance for the mouse?
Not sure how your mouse is configured but will give you two possibilities to use.
Turn your mouse over and see if there is a small door on the bottom where the batteries are located.

If the mouse doesn't have a little door to
open on the bottom, then try this. Just behind the Left and Right
keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the
cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used
this type of access to replace the batteries.

Dont worry SourCandy, just use a soft cotton cloth and some mild detergent like a glass cleaner and clean the bottom of the mouse and use a plain dark coloured mouse pad...!!! This shd definitely work..!! Hoping a gud rating from u...!!!
This is a well documented problem with the G7. Which sucks b/c this is the best mouse I've ever used. Thankfully though the problem appears to be the battery contacts on the inside of the mouse just get pushed back with changing the batteries. Solutions I've read about is putting a few layers of tape on the back of the battery to push the battery further forward agaisnt the rear stop. A drop of solder on each of the battery contacts would also do the trick, but getting the solder to stick is a trick. (If you try this, it is very bad to heat up a battery with a soldering iron, so be extremely careful). A better solution is to take the mouse apart, a brief overview of disembly can be found here,
Although since I didn't have teflon tape laying around...if you have used the mouse enough or just push a bit on the pads, you can see the outline of the screw holes, and just cut through the pad w/ an exacto knife. The one under the label already had scored lines which made that one easy. Once the cover is off I just used the tip of the exacto knife to pry the contacts out a bit more (remove the battery before disembling), cleaned the scroll wheel off, and put the mouse back together. Works like new so far, which is good b/c from what I've heard Logitech isn't very good about replacing the mice w/o a recipt (which I think I lost after a week, nevermind 3 years).
