I just purchased a new iMac. I put some new songs on thru i tunes and when I sync with my iPod it erased all but 156 of my over 3000 songs from my iPod. How do I put them back on

If you did not purchase original songs through Apple/iTunes they are gone. If you did then you will have to download again through purchases in iTunes and resync iPod. - this should be posted in Apple support not here.

Have you tried using a different cable to connect MP3 to your IMac?

How do erase all the content out of my imac . Then have all the programs set up ready so its ready to go like it is bring it home new. ?

If you got the install Dvd just pop.that in and follow the instructions from the setup.If you got a Factory Setup Partition,you can run this from the programs setup folder or Install.

I just bought this brand sony vaio new laptop and it has windows home premium on it... Then the ms Office home/student 2007 and that kept asking me for a Prod Key..

You need to register the Vaio and if you are using the MS office that came on the computer you will need to go through the purchase and registration process. The version they put on computers today is a 90 day temporary trial that requires you to purchase a product key to continue using it. You can go to Walmart, Target, Best Buy and purchase the software there to get your key if you prefer. It will cost the same.

Just purchased an iMac computer for my HP DeskJet 880C

You can log on to the hp site and get the current driver/printer software for your printer. Get the mac os version and install via usb. Download and install then restart your imac... then attempt a print...
Should work fine with an iMac.

I am attempting to transfer Quicken 2008 qif files to the new IMAC, I just purchased. I made an export file...the IMAC only has Quicken 2007 installed. I have been unable to locate a 2008 or 2009 program...

My imac keys started typing extra characters: typing a makes caps lock come on, hitting caps lock to turn it off types A'. typing x makes cx, s makes sd, e makes ew, 1 makes 1`, z makes z§, k makes...

Sounds like sticking keyboard...P.O. May have spilled coke on it. Toss it and get new keyboard.

Communication Errors between Mac & Windows

I'm assuming when you say they login with AOL, that you mean they use AOL Instant Messenger, since iChat is compatible with that. If that is the case, it should work. As long as the chat clienta are compatible, there should be no issue with using a Mac and a PC. What would be helpful is the exact text of the message. Can you post that?

There's no ichat version for pc until today. but you can chat with mac (ichat) users on pc using AIM from AOL.
