No sounds from stereo

what type of stereo system do you have? (8 speaker? 6 speaker?)

Try using a CD cleaner to clean the optical lens which may have gathered some dust.

Sounds like you have an internal short in the stereo. Or could be that the face of your stereo is worn out too. Get another radio.

did you hook the cables up backwards (ground to positive) as this could short out your electronics. are there any other electronic issues. if you didnt and everything else is ok you radio may have an anti-theft program. you can try disconnecting the ground connection to the battery for about 30 secs and reconnecting it. if it still doesnt work look in your owners manual how to reset the computer also check your fuses.. if all fails you may need to get the radio reprogrammed good luck

dont really get the question the onstar is ran by regular engine battery and controlled by the body control module

newer cars come with an amp built in so mak esure u hook up the amp wire it may end up plugging into the power ant. or amp wire

lenmercredi2, Sounds to me like the starter, the clicking sound you hear is the shaft on the starter popping out, but the shaft is not spinning. The shaft pops out and spins the flywheel to start the car, but sounds like its not working. You more than likely need a new starter, hope this helps :)

sounds like the amp is over heating and needs to be replaced
and yes there is most likely an amp in the system and it is eithor over powered or over heating

sounds like the dealers right..internal short most likely needs to be replaced,,
