Fiter is dead clogged up inside. you could wash it 50 times still wont unclog. simple fix, just buy a new filter and empty bin more often in the future and wash filter every month and fit new one every two years
I have same issue - short burst of clicks, no power. No bin attached, no filter in place. So that’s not the answer
I am having the same exact problem. Have you been able to resolve this?
mine was doing this ,i had a jammed motor. disconnect/remove the battery and get access to the motor .you will see a fan try wiggling it back and forth with a small screwdriver to loosen it. worked for me :)
Having the same problem here! Rob, I hope that’s it. Gotta wait, just ordered a torx T7 screwdriver to open the motherboard thing. I’ll try to come back here and post after that to help future dyson fixers

Hi.
Keep the axe on hold try this first.
Ok first thing to do is remove & clean the 2 piece premotor filter or purchase new.
Now remove soleplate from bottom of machine to do this rotate the 3 plastic screws to unlock position. Lift sole plate off now remove any blockagers or fluff that may be built up over the brush roller.
Remove hair from brush roll using scissors.
Check short clear hose for blockages & any damage rips or tares if it is damaged purchase new hose.
Now look at belts & rotate brush roller it should turn relatively easy if it is difficult to turn by hand remove the brush roller & pull off the end caps the axle will come out with one of the caps.
Check the roller bearings clean away dust build up replace end caps & axle spin roller holding on to end cap if freely to spin refit back on to machine.
If its stiff to rotate you will need new roller.
Now pull off the 2 inspection ports check them for bits of paper etc especialy the (U) shaped port at bottom rear of machine this can contain pens pencills stones all sorts of items that hinder the suction.
Now check the long flexi hose & metal wand for any obstructions.
If after all this machine is still not working correctly go to this site http://dysonmanuals.llc.nu/
On this site you will find Dyson service manuals covering poor suction, clutch, motor, etc.

SOURCE: Loud noise
To start with, a vacuum belt is designed to be the weak link so that if the brushroll is stopped momentarily, the motor won't "burn up" or be permanently damaged.
If, on your Dyson, your drive belt is a cogged-tooth [or "Gilmore"] belt, I have seen instances of the brushroll becoming momentarily stopped, and the motor will then chew up a few teeth on the belt.
Running the vacuum anytime after this will/may produce a grinding noise.
If you examine your belt and see teeth missing, replace the belt (and they should be under $20 for sure) and that should repair such an issue.

Same problem here. We noticed a loss of suction for about 5 minutes and the suction stopped. Beater bar still rotates but ZERO suction.
SOURCE: We push the trigger, and the light comes on but no suction/ motor not working

I have the same/similar problem. I disassembled the vacuum
and discovered that it was not actually the servo motor itself. The problem on
mine was little a little sensor.
The motor that raises and lower the height adjustment
obviously need to stop when it reaches the highest setting (or the lowest setting)
so that it doesn't over-adjust itself outside of the normal range (example an
elevator in a building must stop trying to go down when it reaches the lowest
floor, and must stop trying to go up when it reaches the highest floor.) In the
vacuum there is a little slider and a pair of sensors that 'tells' the vacuum
when it hits the bottom or top height. The sensor in mine had gotten mashed up
and was not working anymore. Unfortunately the position it was in when it got
mashed was all the way up, and worse, because it had been triggered to tell the
vacuum that it had reached its highest point, it disable the adjustment motor from
making further adjustments.
So I bought a new sensor part ($15) (US) but since Electrolux
didn't actually stock them, it took almost three months to arrive.
Unfortunately for me, I have since forgotten where all the little pieces and
parts came from. I am trying to find a repair manual to help me reassemble it
properly, and I'll remain cautiously optimistic about this.
Hope this helps you with some insight in your problems
possible diagnosis and resolution.
