Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear your DC33's brush bar is not rotating. This is likely to be because the brush control on the cleaner head has accidentally set to 'Hard floors'. In this mode, the brush bar will not rotate. Please recline your machine into the vacuuming position, turn it on, and make sure the brush control is set to 'Carpets'.

I'm confident this will resolve the issue, as using and replacing the wand will not have any effect on the function of the brush bar. It's also important to note that the brush bar will never rotate when the machine is standing upright.

If you would like further assistance after you've checked the brush control is correctly positioned, please get in touch with us directly. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), or 1-877-397-6622 (CA).

Best wishes,

Jack

SOURCE: no suction

Sucked up a sock?? No seriously.. it may be as simple as that or that an on board filter is clogged. Check your manual for all filters and Hepa/screens and others. Also, is the unit making any odd noises since the non -suction scenario? Whining or screeching sounds, where is the motor impeller/vac bearing or similar is damaged or a hose is kinked within hte unit itself.. <not normally unless the unit has been taken apart and placed back together and crushed the main return vac hose. .

SOURCE: rotating brush will not turn on my Dyson DC07

Yes I had the same problem on my animal Dysom. There is a button on the top of the dysom that turns the cacuum on. Right beside that button is another one that turns on and off the brush!!! Good luck!!! I accidently one day bumped that button and couldn't get my brush to work but after troubleshooting it, that was my solution.

Did you smell something burning? You probably melted/broke the drive belt.

How is a Dyson Cinetic Big Ball supposed to get suction when in the rotating brush mode?

There is a short tube at the bottom and the changeover valve that switches from tools to the floor when you pull the handle back into vacuuming mode. Make sure the valve is switching back and forth smoothly and properly.

Get the brush bar to spin again on my dc39 vac

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

The rotating brush bar inside DC39's Triggerhead floor tool should rotate when the vacuum is running, unless you turn it off using the button on the wand handle. If it's not rotating, our Support guide will walk you through the checks needed to resolve this: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc39/dc39-animal/machine-is-not-working/trigger-head-not-working/dc39-check-the-brushbar

In the unusual event that these checks don't resolve the issue, please contact our experts directly so we can help you further. You can reach the Dyson Customer Helpline by calling 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

The Hoover switches on and the brush rotates but the actual Hoover doesn't come on?

Hi, is there suction when you open the top of the wand handle?

If no, have you emptied the container. next check the tubes that are removable, you may find there is a blockage of hair and bits, have you removed filter and given it a goos wash.

Loss of suction

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.
I'm sorry to hear you've had difficulty with your DC44 Animal. It's normal for air to blow out of the back of the machine - this is where the exhaust air is returned to the room after passing through the cyclone pack.
However, if your machine doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual and you've recently washed the filter, this may be due to a blockage. To check the motorised carbon fibre floor tool, wand and bin inlet for any obstructions, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:
http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc44/dc44-animal/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual-dc44/no-resolved-redirect-to-check-the-wand/check-wand
The motorised carbon fibre floor tool is driven by it's own motor, rather than the machine's airflow. If it isn't rotating, the video attached should help you locate anything which could be jamming the brush bar. Make sure you remove any threads or hair from around the brush bar carefully using scissors, taking care to avoid causing any damage to the bristles.
I'm confident this will resolve the issue, but if you would like some further help you can reach the Dyson customer Helpline directly by calling us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

How do i alter the dyson dc04 to use on hard floors

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

If your DC04 has a brush control on the cleaner head, you'll need to set this to 'On' for carpets, and 'Off' for hard floors. You can find out how to do this on our Support site:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc04/dc04-brush-control/my-machine-is-not-working/i-can-see-something-wrong-visual/i-can-see-something-wrong-visual/my-brushbar-is-not-rotating2/does-the-brushbar-rotate-with-the-power-on

If your machine does not include the brush control, it will only be suitable for vacuuming carpeted surfaces and we'd advise against using it on hard floors in upright mode. However, you can use the hose and wand to vacuum hard floors and we have several suitable hard floor tools available which may help.

I hope this helps - if you'd like further advice you can reach our freephone Helpline on 0800 298 0298. Just to let you know, our Helpline is available from 7am-10pm, 7 days a week.

The brushes do not disengage when in upright position

Set the brush control, as needed. The brush control turns the brushbar on the underside of the vacuum on and off. The button is located beside the power button, on the top-front of the vacuum cleaner. Turn on the brush control for cleaning carpet. Turn off the brush control for bare floors or delicatelb_icon1.png rugs..

This vacuum is not picking up anymore when used as an upright, however it does still work very well when using the hose and attachments, I have looked at the vacuum but I cannot figure out where the clog...

Is the brush rotating?
Have you turned it over, taken off the bottom plate and cleaned it out?
Is the belt in good shape or does it no longer rotate the brush?
Is it on the proper floor/carpet setting for the surface you are cleaning?

Try these as they usually repair most vacuum issues of this type.

Rainbow e series vaccum/scubber

If you are talking about the hard wood floor brush you hook it at the end of the one slightly bent wand. Look at the end of the brush that you would hook to the wand. In the circle opening there are two slits. On the end of the wand there are two bumps. You need to line them up, push the brush on then twist it around so it stays on. then you attach the straight wand to that and the other slightly bent wand at the other end of the straight one. It will go like this Wet hose, slightly bent wand, straight wand, slightly bent wand, and floor brush. I hope I helped. Leave the basin empty. put your water or cleaner on the floor scrub it around then turn machine on and suck it up.
