TomTomApr 15, 2013 - If you only charge your TomTom while it is in use, it may not charge to capacity. To fully charge your TomTom, it is best to charge the device indoors. Most newer TomTom products can be charged directly through USB, simply by connecting the USB cable or dock to your computer.

My tomtom rider 2 will not charge on my bike and will not charge from mains electric, when i use my tomtom in the car it works.

It sounds like the Car adapter is bad, try charging through the USB port on your computer to see if the unit charges. If it does you will need a new car charger - try ebay.

It is possible that the cvar charger fuse has blown. Undo the tip and remove and replace !amp fuse and all should be fixed.

Connect your TomTom to the car charger and turn it on. Tap the lower right hand cornor where the sat. signal graph is. On the screen that comes up check to see if it is chargeing while connected to the car charger. It should say charging in the upper right hand cornor where it shows the battery status. If it isn't charging then you have either a bad pin on your windsheild mount or your charger is not working. If the charger is not working it may be as simple as replacing the fuse in the charger.

Are there any lights on the unit at all?
when it was on the charger did it light the chatrge lights ( blinking). Try putting it back on the charger and seeing if it turns on while connected ( may take a few mins before it will) If it does turn on wjhen on charger I would suspect either the battery discharged instead of charged, or the battery collapsed.
It needs to be sent for repairs.

If it is charging via a USB connection on your computer there is nothing wrong with the TT. It doesn't matter if you are trying to charge via USB, mains, or car charger the connection is the same for all in your TT. I would look elsewhere for the problem. More than likely your car charger is faulty.

Try cleaning the TT contacts with alcohol, make sure the unit is off when you do it.

Contact TomTom. They were helpful to me.
Suggest u monitor battery and get it charged up. Then reset. See if you can reproduce the problem.
They sent me an email with instructions on how to format the disk or card, then reinstall the software. Then they authorized me a new map download (don't format the disk until they assure you that you can have a new map). Perhaps it's also best to  use TomTom Home software on your computer to backup the files on the TomTom incase something goes wrong.

5v and 2A are the correct figures for a Go910.
