Message comes up 'there is no paper load paper and press OK?

Hi,

if your device has multiple trays, please put paper in both trays before attempting to print again. I would also use any diagnosis apps that Canon offers on it's website for it's product after power cycling your device and restarting any computer that it might be attached to.

Thank you.

Trey 1 is giving a message out of paper when they is paper inside

The message "No Paper" will appear on the LCD display if the Brother machine does not detect paper in the paper tray(Tray#1 or Tray#2) or MP(Multi-purpose) Tray.

Resetting the Brother machine may resolve this issue. To reset the machine, unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet for approximately 10 seconds and then plug it back in.

Note

For MFC users :
The Brother machine can be powered OFF for up to 4 days without losing faxes in memory.

If the message "No Paper" continues to appear on the display follow the instructions listed below:

When printing from Tray#1 or Tray#2 :

Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine. Go to STEP2.

When printing from MP Tray :

Go to STEP4.

Note Tray #2 is the optional LT-5300 paper tray. The MP Tray is just above the main paper tray and can be accessed by opening the MP Tray door. To open, pull on either the left or right side of the front door by the circular cut out.

2. While pressing the blue paper-guide release lever, slide the paper guides to fit the paper size. If the back of the paper tray doesn't move, the tray lock button may be in the lock position; slide the lock button to the unlock position and pull out the back of the paper tray again. With the paper removed, you will see the LTR (letter) marking on the plastic plate on the bottom of the paper tray to indicate where the moveable rear guide (with protruding arrow) should be moved to for letter size paper. There is also a marking for legal size paper. Make sure the guides are set at the correct mark. Reload the paper in the paper tray. Make sure the moveable rear guide does NOT push tightly against the paper. It should be adjusted to the LTR (letter) or LGL (legal) position, depending on your paper size. If the moveable rear guide is pushed too tightly against the rear edge of the paper, the paper will get stuck in the tray and a loud plastic snapping noise may be heard when feeding paper.

3. Move the tray lock button to the lock position (slide the button towards the paper).

4. If there is no paper in the tray, reload the paper.

When printing from Tray#1 or Tray#2 :

The tray can hold up to 250 sheets of 20lb paper. Do not overfill the tray. There is a maximum paper mark located on the top of the right and left paper guide. It looks like a V cut out in the plastic.

Note

If you are using special paper and the machine has problems feeding it from the paper tray, try the paper again using the manual feed tray. Make sure you insert the paper far enough --about 1 inch- under the gray plastic bar in the MP Tray until it stops or it will not be fed and the machine will display the message "No Paper".

5. Verify the correct size and type paper is being used:
When printing from Tray#1 or Tray#2 :

If you are printing from a PC and using the paper tray, make sure that MP Tray is NOT selected in the application's print properties for Paper Source.

When printing from MP Tray :

If you are printing from a PC make sure that the MP Tray is selected in the application's print properties for Paper Source.

Note: Please be aware that the setting in the printer driver will take priority over the setting made on the control panel.

14. If you have set the Tray Use settings for a particular tray, the machine will feed paper only from that tray. If the selected tray is out of paper, a "No Paper" message will appear on the LCD. You need to reload paper in that tray.
To set the Tray Use setting, follow the steps below:

a. Press Menu.

b. Press the up or down arrow key to select General Setup.

c. Press OK.

d. Press the up or down arrow key to select Tray Use.

e. Press OK.

f. Press the up or down arrow key to select the mode you want to use.
You can select Copy, Print or Fax(MFC users only).

g. Press OK.

h. Press the up or down arrow key to select the tray.
You can select Tray#1 Only, Tray#2 Only or MP Tray Only.

i. Press OK.

15. For MFC users :

To test, print the Help List.

. Press Menu.

a. Press the up or down arrow key to select Print Reports, and press OK.

b. Press the up or down arrow key to select Help List, and press OK.

c.Press Start.

For DCP users :

To test, print the User Settings.

d. Press Menu.

e. Press the up or down arrow key to select General Setup, and press OK.

f. Press the up or down arrow key to select User Settings, and press OK.

g. Press Start.

Note

If the problem still continues after following the above instructions,

I recommend you clean the Separation Roller, Pickup Roller and Separation pad following the instructions of the FAQ: My Brother machine mis-feeds paper.

I use a CM2320nf MFP connected to Windows XP. The unit seems to be defaulted to print 2 pages - and for double sided copies, it stops after 2 pages, then the Cleaning window pops up, then I get an error...

Problem 1 :
As far as the machine printing 2 pages per job. To fix this it's usually the default number of copies the printer is set to. To change/ confirm the setting is set to one:
Press the menu button
Arrow down to -> Printing, Press the green check to enter the menu
Arrow down to -> Copies Press the green check to enter the menu
Change or confirm the value = 1, (Based on your question this might be set to 2) Press the green save the value.
* If your number of copies is set to 1 and the machine is still printing 2 copies, then the problem relays in your print driver.

Problem 2: General Misprint Error message something like 41.3
2 things to check:

1st - Press the menu button
Arrow down to Paper Handling, Press the green check to enter the menu
Now you will see options like Tray 1 size - Tray 1 type. Here their will be a option for each tray installed on your machine. You will go into each tray option and confirm the paper size and type.
Example
Tray 1 Size = Envelope #10 (This is the manual feed tray)
Tray 1 Type = Envelope
Tray 2 Size = Letter
Tray 2 Type = Plain

To perform arrow down to tray X size press the green check to access the menu, arrow up or down to select your paper size. Once the paper size is selected press the green check to save it. repeat for each tray.

2nd -
Pull out your tray and remove the paper, towards back of the tray you will see a guide (Tab) in the middle of the tray which allows you to expand the tray to accept various paper sizes, Please confirm the guide is set to the correct type. If your using letter, make sure the guide is set to letter (LTR) you can see these codes by looking at the base of the guide, their is a little arrow pointer.

Hope this helps

Tray1 Load LTR

Hi,

Hope this helps. Please check the printer properties before clicking Ok at print menu command. Now check the available paper tray handler. Try bypass, tray1 or MP tray.

Check also the default paper on Printer Menu command by pressing appropriate setup button. You can try also placing the paper on bypass try if available. The load LTR message means the machine waits a short bond paper on MP tray or on bypass tray.

My OKI C5500 will only print from the MP tray, and will not take paper from the bottom paper tray, even though there is plenty of paper in the bottom tray. Its giving me a 490 Error message, but I do NOT...

490 error means -

LOAD mmm AND PRESS ONLINE SWITCH 490: MP TRAY EMPTY

Print job from MP Tray has been received and the MP Tray is empty.

Load the requested media (mmm) in the MP Tray and press ON-LINE.

Check your print driver settings and see if your defualt try is set for the MP Tray. Also see if the page setup for the print job is set for MP tray.

Keep getting "11 load letter in tray 1" message

Are the print jobs being sent to printer all the same page size?

Are they all print jobs sent letter page size and your printers cassettes are set for A4 or something?

Your printer is asking for letter size paper, because any paper it has is not set to letter  and document that it is trying to print has been sent as that size.

Check what options you have on print driver on pc as far as Tray defaults, paper type and size settings

Check printer settings via its keypad as to tray defaults, paper size set for each tray and paper type, some printers have paper size switchs on their trays too.
