I have a Frigidaire LTF214OES1 washer that will not spin. I can make the unit spin by going into the diagnostic funtion. There is an error code E42 (replace control module) I have replaced the Control Boad and the Control Board Motor. Still the same problem it will not spin. Had someone suggested replacing the Motor.

I have a Frigidaire Affinity and the same thing happened to me. After looking on this website I found someone who told me to change the door latch assembly. I went to my local parts supplier and bought a new door latch assembly for $53. My husband replaced the door latch, and it works like new! The good news is the replacement part is better made than the original. The parts guy said he's never seen one fail a 2nd time. This is a cheap fix to a serious problem.

My Fridgidare did the same thing. There is a bolt on the back that kept coming off. My last repair person lock-tighted the bolt on and it hasn't come undone since. Unfortunately, I will never get the bolt off. I think the quality of this specific machine is horrible. I am having my 4th service call in less than 12 months. I'm glad I purchased the extended warranty.

Hi, Did you change the main control of the motor control. the motor control is controls the speed and the spin cycle...I also have had bad door locks keeping th washer from going into a spin cycle.. let me know if you change them and what happens..

"IT WAS THE MOTOR CONTROL BOARD" then why would you rate me NOT helpful.. if it was the motor control. if that was the solution?? three things can stop it from spinning main control-motor control or door lock..sorry I was not helpful to you!

  • Anonymous Aug 30, 2007

So it was NOT the Motor control. the one next to the motor? have you found out what the problem is? let me know when you do? Krazytech

Open the rear panel and look for a broken belt and does the motor spins. In case motor doesn't spin, check on its tags for 115/220V. Let me know with your results, for further assistance if will be needed. Good luck!

The Lid switch is the most common problem with what you have descibed.

some of the lid switches are located in the control area and some are on the right side center lid area and their is a hole where the lid has a plastic pin that presses it.

My ATF6000ES Front Loading washer runs on any cycle for about 5 minutes then stops, and the display resets to the start and nothing more happens. Got an E48 code and ran "test 7" and the tub did not

Hello Nick Jensen, thanks for your post!
From what you have described your Frigidaire washer is displaying an error code of "E48" and you have changed the control board with the problem continuing to be present. An "E48" error code could be a possible problem with your door lock assembly, motor control board, or control panel. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose your washer to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Washer wont drain spin or fill. but agitator works

with this many issues it sounds like the timer has a dead spot in it,especially your saying it wont even fill, then wont drain or spin, but only agitate

Agitator does not work

Hi,
Your motor runs in forward and reverse...the spin is one way and the agitate is the other... that direction has failed. Replace the motor...

Front loader wont agitate or spin, but it fills with water and pumps water out

likely the lid switch is bad - if not the ECU/timer is.

Will not go in to spin cycle

Remove agitator (it will pop off when pried) then you will find your answer. Mine was a broken tub collar to shaft.

My washer wont spin

Your symptoms that indicates a broken motor coupler. If your washer will drain and fill but has not agitation action or spinning action that would indicate a broken motor coupler. The motor coupler links the drive motor to the transmission.

Washer will fill, drain, and run a complete cycle but will not agitate or spin

sounds like the motor control board is bad. you could test the motor to see if it ohms out ok, the diagram has the readings. The diagram should be on the side panel (inside the cabinet) on the lt side in a brown envelope.

Front load washer wont spin

yes. the solinoid or wax motor (depending on which switch you have) has fail and is not telling control that the door is locked. replacing the switch will fix it

Wont spin or agitate

Not sure what you mean? if you have normal wash action then it is agitating in the wash cycle.  Otherwise if it doesn't agitate or spin but does fill with water then your motor or motor control board is bad.
