Dead pixels cannot be fixed, each pixel is controlled by a transistor that is part of the LCD screen. If it is bad, the only option is to replace the LCD screen.

Blotted screen in my hp laptop

1.Locate the problem pixel. Display a true black image on your HP's monitor. You can do this by playing a DVD on your HP laptop, and pausing it on the black screen just before the movie starts. Once you bring up a black image on screen, the stuck or dead pixel should be visible.
2.Try applying direct pressure to the problematic pixel. After you've located it, turn off your laptop. Place a soft cloth or rag over the pixel to avoid damaging your screen. A soft chamois works well. Using the tip of a pen, apply gentle pressure to the pixel. You don't need to press hard, as too much pressure can crack or scratch your screen. While applying pressure, boot up your laptop. This should force the pixel to begin working properly.
3.Tap the pixel. With your Toshiba booted up and an image on the screen, gently tap the pixel with the rounded end of a pen cap. Tap hard just hard enough to see a small white flash on the screen. Tap your HP's screen until the pixel begins working properly.
4.Download a stuck pixel program. Several programs, including JScreenFix, UDPix and Pixel Protector, are available for download and can help fix a malfunctioning pixel. These programs display rapidly changing colors and images on your screen. The flashing colors and images can force the pixel to begin functioning properly.
5.Contact HP. If none of the above methods work, your screen may have a pixel that is truly dead. If that's the case, the only option is to replace the display completely. Contact HP customer support at www.hp.com to find an authorized repair service near you.

Line on screen

If the line is always present regardless of what is being shown on screen, it is a line of dead pixels. This can be caused by leaving the laptop on for a long while, especially without a screen saver.

Blue vertical line

The lines appearing on your LCD means it has a defect on the screen.

There are 3 types of pixel defect
1) dead pixel - pixel is always off
2) stuck pixel - pixel is always on
3) hot pixel - pixel is on but in red, green, blue or yellow, can also be a light black color

You can try to fix stuck or hot pixels but dead is dead.
1st method, flashing different colors rapidly:
JSScreenfix.com has a great tool. This is their free java applet or you can download it below.

2nd method, applying pressure to pixel:
Damp paper towel, Small stylus or dull pencil.

3rd method, tapping the pixel:
Pen with cover on or another small, blunt object.

If your laptop is still under warranty, get it replaced. If not you are looking at the most expensive part in a laptop to get replaced. (LCD screens on laptop is roughly equivalent to 40-60% of the total laptop cost

My screen on my asus 900 has two lines going across the bottom of the screen.

i may be incorrect, but i believe those lines are dead pixels, basically, they're lines of pixels (or dots) on the screen, that have become permanently one color, usually white or black

Black lines appeared on the screen

im sorry but it seems thats the screen had a dead pixel from when you bought it, the dead pixel has then since killed off the surounding pixels and they in turn have done the same. this sometimes forms a line but in some more unfortunate cases the screen can lose visual on both x and y axis's.
unfortuantly your manufaturers warrenty will not cover dead pixels as they are so common and there is a torrerance for them without doing harm, but some times dead pixels can spread.

hope this helps.

Line in my lc screen

A line from top to bottom or side to side is a dead or failed pixel sensor. There are hundreds of pixel sensors at the edges of the screen, when one fails it causes a line, the line can be red, blue, white, or black. Unfortunately, there is no way of repairing the line, other that replacing the screen.

Laptop screen issues

This is a bad pixel sensor. Your screen has hundreds of vertical and horizontal pixel sensors on the edge, if one goes out on either end it causes a dead pixel line through the screen. Unfortunately, the only way to fix it is to replace the screen. If you can live with the annoyance, I've seen screens last for years with a pixel line without any other problems.
