Belt broken on riding lawn mower (john Deere LT 133) need belt routing diagram

    Drive belt jumps off idler.

  • thalligan123 May 03, 2009

I just went to this link and I do not see the belt configuration to drive the blades?

  • thalligan123 May 11, 2010

I have followind solution 2 but still have problems. I clicked on the link and then did the following:

    - Model stx38 - find

    - 22232 STX30 and stx38 yellow des\ck

    - Sectional Index

    - 85 Mower Deck and Lift Linkage

    - 12 Mower Drive elt

This picture does not show the belt configuration. I have found my manual and it says I only have to remove one bolt (seems like 30 from the picture). If I only remove that I can not get the belt around item 32, do I also need to remove bolt 29?

    Thanks

You have to enter your model number, then hit "find".
Go to the Sectional index and look for the mowing deck.

John Deere Lt 166 ride on mower

jd lt 166 has 5 different decks
3 of which have the same belt routing
1st the belt needs to be adjusted correctly to stop it from "slacking off"
then on most decks the belt is routed in between the 2 small idler pulleys and then to the engine pulley
so let me know the deck i.e. 36", 42 ", 46", 48"
different belt sizes also

Blade belt diagram for John Deere LX178 Riding

Remember the belt rule, V of the belt goes in V pulleys.Flat pulleys that are stationary or move get the back of the belt. You can figure it out. Its not rocket science. Remember at some point there has to be a tensioner, usually gets the back of the belt if its a flat pulley. U may have to remove the spring and then reattach the spring after the belt is routed.
