There is a contrast control. Look for it in your user manual. On page 14...bullet #25... You press the menu button and hold it and rotate the dial to adjust the contrast.
One of the internal data for one touch has become corrupted. The best thing is to do a factory reset. Read your manual and follw the directions for a factory reset.
I suspect you have aa pwer supply problem that is supplying low voltage to the unit. The display will light at low voltage but circuitry will not run when voltage is low.
The pa800 has a fixed amount of Ram at 64mbs and it is not physically possible to upgrade the Ram. The pa2x has a removable128mbs Module and that can be upgraded via a 256mb Module from Korg. Keith [mrniceneasy - KorgForums]
