The Coffee Maker can be descaled using
a packaged descaling agent or vinegar.
Always mix the descaling solution using
cool water.
• When using a descaling agent, follow
the directions on the package for the
recommended amounts of descaling
agent and water to use.
• When using vinegar, fill the carafe with
a solution consisting of 1⁄2 vinegar and
1⁄2 water.
Descaling Steps:
1. Before descaling, always remove the
water filter (see “Installing the Ion-
Exchange Water Filter” on page 7) and
make sure the brew basket contains
no coffee or coffee filters.
2. Run the Coffee Maker through a
complete brewing cycle using a full
carafe of the descaling solution.
3. If the cleaning needed indicator lights
after the brewing cycle is complete,
repeat Step 2 using fresh descaling
solution. Keep repeating Step 2 until
the cleaning needed indicator no
longer lights after brewing.
4. Rinse the Coffee Maker by running
it through two brewing cycles using a
full carafe of fresh, cool water
each time.
5. Wash the brew basket in hot, soapy
water and rinse with hot water. This
part can also be washed in the upper
rack of the dishwasher.
6. Reinstall or replace the water filter.
Replace the filter every three months
under normal usage, or more often
with heavy use.

Clean light on kitchenaid kcm112 won't go off

I found that the following clears the "clean" word that is flashing:

  1. Hold MODE and the + button for about 5 seconds.
  2. After the coffeemaker chimes 2 times, release the buttons.

Hopefully, the clean message will go off.

As an aside, the warmer plate is so awful looking. I am replacing this coffee maker (KM222) with another (and cheaper) one.

DESCALING The Saphira has an integrated descaling program. The procedure takes about 60 minutes. Once started, the descaling procedure may not be stopped. • When acid-containing descalers are used, immediately remove any splashes or drops on sensitive surfaces, particularly from natural stone and wood surfaces. Also, take the appropriate safety precautions. • Turn off the Saphira by pressing the "ON/OFF" button. • Press the button "Descale" until an acoustic signal is heard. • Display: EMPTY DRIP TRAY (Fig.1) • Display: INSERT AGENT IN TANK • Display: PRESS DECALCIFYING Dissolve 2 DESCALING tablets completely in 2.5 cups of water in a vessel and pour the mixture into the empty water tank. Place a sufficiently large container under the steam tube and the coffee delivery outlet. • Press the Descale button • Display: UNIT DECALCIFYING • Display: PLEASE WAIT • An acoustic signal is heard. • Display: EMPTY DRIP TRAY (Fig.1) • Display: FILL WATER TANK • Display: PRESS DECALCIFYING • Press the Descale button • Display: UNIT DECALCIFYING • Display: PLEASE WAIT • An acoustic signal is heard. • Display: EMPTY DRIP TRAY • Display: CLEAN CONTACTS

How to decalcify royal digital?

hi my name is Lee Davidian here is your answer
Automatic Decalcifying Cycle
The automatic decalcifying cycle keeps the machine in perfect operating order. When prompted by the user, mineral buildups in the internal boiler can be dissolved and removed with Saeco’s decalcifying solution and a push of a button.

Cuisinart 12-cup grinder coffemaker all gummed up

It is endemic to this unit - condensation builds up in the grind chute, which makes the grinds stick to the walls of the chute. Decalcifying with vinegar/water helps, but only in an indirect way - by keeping the inside tubing clean, decalcifying generally allows the water to flow through the machine without obstruction. Inside tubing that has calcium, lime deposits built up obstructs water, and makes it flow through the machine slower - when water flows more slowly through the machine, the machine steams off the water at a higher rate, hence more condensation builds up in the grind chute walls.

Generally, i have found all Cuisinart coffee and espresso makers to be high maintenance to a greater or lesser extent, but the Grind-n-Brews have the highest cleaning/maintenance requirement.
