The keys have probably gone bad on the keyboard. I'd recommend you just get a new one. Replacing a keyboard is actually pretty easy, and you can get the part from online for fairly inexpensive. Just make sure the models match because all VAIO keyboards are not alike. There are several tutorial videos if you need them on youtube for simple repair work. Don't be daunted, it usually just involves a few screws and popping the keyboard out. This isn't anything you should pay someone to do unless absolutely necessary.
takes screws out bottom of laptop and on back under lcd,,pop off top and then keyboard,,should be under there,,,check sony website,,for support options,,compatable video cards,,
Often with keyboard keys, they have several clips that hold the keyin place. Try gently prying the key off again, and see if there is any placewhere the plastic might have broken, or if there were other clips thatweren't quite in place. If the key is broken, though, you can either deal with it as it is, orprobably order a new key.
i would buy a replacement keyboard for it. most of the time you should be able to find one for cheap on ebay. they are fairly easy to replace and only require popping off the plastic trim on the top edge of the keyboard, removing a few screws and the data wire. then connect and screw in the new one and pop the trim back in place.
Pop the little cover plate from just above the keyboard. You might have to remove a couple of screws that are located in the battery compartment. Once you get the cover plate off, there are 3 or 4 screws holding the keyboard in. Remove screws, and carefully unplug the ribbon cable. Install new, and you are on your way.
the cmos battery is under the palm rest of the viao....requires you to take off the keyboard and undo 2 screws holding the palmrest on....slide the palmrest off....battery is plugged into the touchpad circuit board
