Unplug the dryer...

  • Remove the lint trap and the 2 screws holding the vent to the top panel (be careful not to drop them down the vent!).
  • Reach around the back and pull the top panel toward you. Insert a putty knife from the front on each side to release the top panel clips. Lift and flip the top panel back.
  • From the inside, remove the 2 screws holding the front panel to the cabinet. Lift the front panel straight up off the front panel clips (hooks) and swing it aside.
  • You should now have access to the belt. This diagram shows you how to loop the belt through the idler pulley.

To replace the belt...
  • Place the belt (grooves inward) around the drum. The idler pulley fits into the slots on the bottom of the cabinet (in front of the motor) with the wheel or glide facing the left side. Pull the belt through the middle of the idler pulley from the left side and loop it around the motor pulley.
To reassemble, follow steps in reverse.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Good luck!

How do I install the serpentine belt on a 2003 Ford expedition?

Hello,Locate the serpentine belt tensioner on the front of the engine. The tensioner is what keeps tension on the belt and keeps the belt from coming off.The tensioner will have a bolt head in the middle of it that a 15mm socket will fit
STEP 2:Look on the hood base where the hood lock attaches to the base and see if there is a belt diagram. This diagram will give you the exact instruction for properly routing the belt across the pulleys. If there is no diagram there, you will need to write down the exact routing of the belt on the pulleys on a notepad
STEP 3:Put the 15mm socket onto the ratchet and put the ratchet onto the bolt head on the belt tensioner.
STEP 4:Turn the tensioner clockwise to relieve the tension on the belt and remove the belt from all of the pulleys
STEPS 5:Remove the new serpentine belt the same way that the old one came off by following the belt routing diagram instruction.Do not put the belt across the tensioner until last.Keep in mind that the belt will only go on one way and be right.
STEP 6:Put the ratchet with the 15mm socket back on the belt tensioner and rotate the tensioner clockwise to give you enough room to slide the new belt across the belt tensioner pulley.Slide the belt onto the belt tensioner pulley and release the belt tensioner.Look over the belt and double check to make sure that the belt is running across all of the
pulleys correctly
STEP 7:Crank the car and inspect that the belt is secure and is staying in the grooves on all of the pulleys.

Thanks

I need a replacement belt for Hoover Elite upright vaccum ,model no. U5043-930. What belt do I get?

Hello,

Your vacuum cleaner originally came with Hoover belt part number 38528027, however Hoover has now discontinued this part number, and replaced this belt with the new belt which is part number 38528040.

The new belt is a little bit smaller then your old one, but unfortunately this is the only belt that Hoover currently makes that will fit your model.

Here's a direct link to our website if you still need to purchase one:
http://www.govacuum.com/agbelhoovpar7.html

I have also uploaded the parts diagram and instruction manual for you. The parts diagram gives you every single part number for all parts on your vacuum should ever need to know another part number. The owners manual will give you step by step instructions on how to change the belt, as well as other maintenance instructions.

Part Diagram for Hoover U5227-930:
http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/vacuumcleanerbacgs/Part-diagram-hoover-u5043-930.pdf

Owners manual is actually for the commercial version of your vacuum, but this will be identical to your instruction manual which Hoover doesn't have available for free:
http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/C1414900.pdf

I hope that this information was helpful to you. If it was, please be so kind and rate my repair helpful by clicking the thumbs up icons in the top corner of the repair.

Thank you very much,

Chris J.

Diagram with replacement belt doesn't seem to match old manual

I haven't worked on a belt drive but here is the Sears parts site for your washer with diagrams of the console, drive system etc. You may get a better idea of how to replace the belt from these.

Here also is the Whirlpool / Amana installation and maintenance document for Amana belt drive washers. It may look similar to yours.

The other thing I'd check is Whirlpools list of documentation for their laundry products. Check some of the washers that they make for one that looks like yours and you should get a better idea.

I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL DRYER,MODEL NO. LER5636EZ2. THERE IS NO HEAT. THE DRYER WORKS FINE OTHERWISE. I HAD THE MAIN HEATING ELIMENT TESTED. IT SHOWED TO BE OK. ANY SOLUTIONS? THANK YOU.DOUG.

Hi Doug, Check your vent hose and both ends of it as well (dryer outlet and wall vent). Take the hose outside and clean it out. Reinstall it with as few kinks and bends as possible. If there is debris under or in the lint trap cavity, remove it as well as possible, This should be what you need.
