My TV is a Sony Wega KV-BZ14P40. Recently it started turning on with the usual green flashing and it settles but very shortly thereafter it starts to flash in red colour. It flashes red 5 times in a row, pauses for about 3 seconds and flashes 5 times again over and over. The picture is also dull especially when I just turn the TV on. Can you help please?

did you ry to unplug from the wall for at least 3 min then plug back in if that does not work try pushing the tv button and reset at the same time on the remote for 1 min if this does not work please take it to a repair center

Most likely the flyback assembly, and or the horizontal output transistor failed. There is also a possiblity of some other faults that are putting the power supply in to the protect mode.
If there is a scan failure, it is possible that there is also some damage in the power supply.
The set will have to be serviced by a TV service tech.

Hi,
5 times flashing light shows following possible problems in your tv..
• G2 is improperly adjusted.
• CRT problem.
• Video OUT IC1800 is faulty.(C5 board)
• IC301 is faulty. (A board)
Most probably cause is G2 voltage adjustment. If you know how to do it, please go ahead or look a tv tech around.

G'Day!
Unfortunately, what you're describing is a repair
issue. You won't be able to address the problem with troubleshooting.
There is a part inside the TV that needs to be replaced. If you're
under warranty, this will cost you nothing. If you're not under
warranty the cost will likely be a minimum of $200 parts and labor.
However, be warned that the cost could be considerably higher.
