Thanks asthanarht , but the folder that is now empty , had been on my hard drive for well over a year. There was no visual display saying anything was being deleted.merely when i switched it on it read "Folder is empty"..so for that matter if it didnt delete, where is the files etc gone?? are they still on the hard drive and recoverable?
Many thanks
Pete
Hi Asthanarht. Many thanks for your input...Something i forgot to add on my last message..When i try opening this problem (empty ) folder..Its displays "The folder is not accessable"...The file or directory is corrupt & unreadable".....
The external hard drive was as i mentioned accidentally unplugged, would this cause this problem??.
I tried downloading a free version of "Regcure" but that is limited in what it clears without you having to buy the full package??..If i knew it would 100% cure the problem i would buy it but perhaps you might advise??
Sincere thanks
Pete
Hi Katz..speedy reply..thanks..
No , i am not sure if Regcure will help i just thought it might?? i do not profess to being too clever on computers etc, lol..and the only real reason i want to recover the folder is i have many many photos etc (family & personal items etc) otherwise i woulndt really bother trying to recover it....
Did the last message i wrote saying about the "corrupt files etc" assist you?..
Am i allowed to post my email address for the link?..if so it is [email protected] i am currently out here in Basrah Iraq so network is sometimes a bit slow..
My thanks to you and of course everyone at "Fixya".
Pete
