SOURCE: my motor is wired for 230v and I need it to be 115v

It should be. Look closely at the motor nameplate and you should see a small diagram telling how to connect the motor for 115v or 230v. Most newer pumps have a small selector of some sorts. Either a plug that pulls off a couple post the include an idicator arrow for where to set the plug for either voltage, or a dial you turn to show it. Either way, you should be able to set the motor for 115 rather easily.

How do I wire a Century 1HP 1081 motor for 230V? This is an old pool pump but still runs. Having a hard time finding any wiring diagrams. Previous owner had it wired for 115v, need it back to 230v.

Did you find a solution for this? I have the exact same pump/motor with the exact same problem. Need to reconfigure it from 110v to 220v and have no wiring diagram.

Changeing 115volt to 230 volt

Most power Flo pumps run above ground pools and run on 115v only. You can look at the wiring diagram on the motor label to see if it is convertible, it will show wiring configurations and amps for both 115v and 230v. If not, it is a 115v motor only.

Just installed a new pump. After one minute of operation it shuts down. Why?

The pump is capable of 115V or 230V operation.

Most likely what is causing your pump to shut down is the thermal overload.
Possible causes of thermal overload:
1. 230 V winding powered by 115V
2. 115V winding powered by 230V

Recheck your connections per the diagram either in the owners manual OR on the label of the motor.

When a NEW pump has issues almost every time the problem is in the connecting wiring either from the main power supply or on the motor terminal lugs.

Just look closely at the wires.. IF your absolutely sure that it is connected correctly. Go to the main power panel.. Push the CB for the pump to OFF hard and then back to on. (This resets the breakers) If it repeats... the symptoms... I need to know what wires you have connected up on the motor to what terminals by LABEL of each terminal.

The pump comes factory set for 230v. Power to the motor is 115v so I switched the jumper as indicated. The jumper is set on 2 posts with an arrow pointing to 230v. I moved it to 1 post and the arrow now...

CHECK YOUR BREAKER IT MIGHT BE THAT YOU ARE 230V .. IF IT IS A WIDE BREAKER ITS 230 OR IF IT IS A SLIM BREAKER ITS 115V , A VOLT METER IS YOUR BEST FRIEND.. REMEMBER TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE FIXIT GUY ! THANKS JAY

Change wiring from 230v to 115v

There should be a wiring diagram on the name plate of the motor, or inside the wiring compartment or on that cover . Would be something with dots and HI , LO, and wire numbers.. or just a notation of 120 , 220 volts.
How is it wired now?

Got a waterway 1.5 hp 1 speed 115/230v, wired 115 need 230

Hi,
Is there a coverplate where the wires come out of the pump? If so, remove the plate and there should be a wiring diagram inside.
Good Luck
