Sounds like you're hooking up through the USB connection. You have to use a FireWire cable to transfer the video.

The stills use the USB and usually video needs firewire, do you have a port marked ieee1394, i-link or firewire?

Using vidbox to transfer dv to my 2015 IMAC tapes record but no audio - what do i do

It's possible that the DV clean you performed on your JVC camcorder has affected the audio during playback on your iMac. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the audio settings on your iMac: Make sure that the audio settings on your iMac are configured correctly. Check that the volume is turned up and that the audio output is set to the correct device.
  2. Check the audio cable: Make sure that the audio cable you are using to connect your JVC camcorder to your iMac is not damaged and is securely plugged in on both ends.
  3. Try a different audio cable: If the audio cable is damaged or faulty, try using a different one to see if that resolves the issue.
  4. Check the audio on the original tapes: Check the audio on the original tapes to see if the issue is present there as well. If the audio is present on the tapes but not on the copied files on your iMac, then the issue may be with the copying process or the file format.
  5. Check the file format: Make sure that the file format you are using to copy the video files supports audio. Some file formats, such as MP4, may not support audio.
  6. Try a different video player: Try playing the copied video files on a different video player to see if the audio works. If it does, then the issue may be with the video player you are using on your iMac.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's possible that the DV clean process on your JVC camcorder may have damaged the audio during playback.

I can only see gray squares in place of photo's I had Best Buy download from my old computer onto my iMAC computer when I bought it

Best Buy should warranty any work that they do. Take it back to them and request that they troubleshoot it or re-do the transfer.

Can I transfer my movie info onto my IMac by just connecting the USB plug, then using Image Capture or what?

Greetings - No, the camera has no connector type that can be plugged directly into your Imac (no USB). You would need to buy a separate piece of hardware such as these:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_17?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=mac+video+capture&sprefix=mac+video+capture
I'm not recommending any particular device but you would need something like it.

Need assistance transferring video to imac

The Panasonic PV-GS12 will transfer video in video record mode and video playback mode using the DV connection (IEEE) Firewire port. PC Mode is restricted to memory card access via USB. If after connecting it in this manner if it does not work try this. With everything connected via firewire and iMovie running. switch the camera to PC mode and the import window should pop up. You may get a comunications error and if you do then switch to playback mode. The import window should stay open and you can control your camera with the iMovie controls.

Can't seem to transfer footage from my SONY HDR SR10 to my imac

I don't know if you would call this a solution but I do know that some computers or programs will not except certain cameras. For instance I have a Sony computer and the editing program I have is Adobe Premier which will not except footage from my JVC camera but will except the footage through my Canon camera. I think the Eggheads that design these programs just like to screw with people.

Transferring video on cassette to Mac OSX

Are you transferring from cassette to memory card and then to Imac? certainly there is software supported by Imac to accomplish this. You can convert your videos to MPEG format using Imagemixer then try uploading with another program. Imac and OSX should have websites that list compatible software.
