Cant remove Globe to change light bulb on Hampton Bay ceiling fan

I have looked online and even went to HomeDepot and asked them for help. No one knows how to get at the light bulb. There are no tiny screws to remove. No knob at the base of the globe. The globe itself doesnt budge even when sprayed with wd40. I dont know if I am going to have to just break the globe off or if I am missing something. The model number on the fan only said 48TP. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Twist counterclockwise (looking up at it) on glass firmly and carefully, the globe functions like a screw

I just broke what sounds like the same globe. If you are aware, could you email me where I could get a replacement globe?

I have the same problem. I have turned and turned the glass globe clockwise and counterclockwise slowly and gently at least 50 times. no drop off. I have even taken every screw out of the fixture and body to inspect the insides exposed and have had no luck. Fitting the wires (breaker off!) back inside the ceiling hole was a task!
I'm at a loss... Please help.

Have you tryed unscrewing the globe. Have run across this before. Might be VERY tight but it can be unscrewed. Just be ease and keep working it back and forth. Let me know this turns out.HAHAHA.

I couldn't figure it out either until I just pulled straight down and twisted it off. There are no threads, just 3 metal clips inside globe that hold it on with tension.

Thank you, thank you...... pulled down and twist.....I was about to lose my mind

Be patient. This turned out to be not an easy task. I sprayed around the top of the globe with WD-40. Waited a few seconds then turned the globe to my left (looking up). It came off. Mission accomplished!

I've got something similar but there appear to be clamps inside the globe...can you just pull it off? I tried turning it counter clockwise but that didn't seem to work.

We have a hampton bay ceiling fan model 54cvt. We cant figure out how to change the light bulb or change the direction of the blades. We dont have a manual for the fan.

This fan is also known as the Hampton Bay Covington 54 Ceiling Fan. You need to turn the globe anti clockwise until it comes out. The full instruction manual can be found here.

If you have another fan model other than the Hampton Bay 54CVT then try here

How do i remove the light to change a light bulb?

i looked it up online and they called it a:
Single Bowl Twist and Lock Light Kit.
Some things i would suggest:
  1. push it up and turn (like when you open a medicine bottle.
  2. try to look for a spring action peg that clicks in automatically around the glass dome that might be locking it...

please comment my solution :) thanks
