Cannot install the device

When i try to install it, it keeps connecting and disconnecting and my computer won't recognize it. It says it has found new hardware, but then tells me the device is not working properly. says there's a problem with the driver. I've already downloaded firmware and that keeps telling me to "please connect device"

With regards to this issue, I would suggest you to download windows update since samsung MTP devices are generic driver loaded by microsoft. Then after you have downloaded the windows update press and hold the play button of your device while you are connecting it to your computer, if this is successful a Found new hardware message will pop up on your screen then just follow the on screen instruction on how to install your device. Hope this helps. PEACE!

Try changing mp3 firmware to MSC mode.
MTP is a protocol developed by Microsoft that just sucks and makes one million of help requests like yours.

5 If one is available, try connecting another USB device to the same USB port to see if it is recognized by the operating system.
6 If one is available, try a different USB cable that is under 10 feet.
NOTE: Some port replicators or docking stations for laptops or notebooks may cause a problem.

Go Gear is not recognized by computer

You must roll back to WMP 10 - this device is completely incompatible with WMP11 - instructions are on both the Philips and Microsoft websites

After rolling back to 10:
disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Player frozen..

You need to do two things - the first tactic will force the computer to recognize the GoGear - the second will fix the device:

Disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

After this is done, open the Philips Device Manager that came with the install CD, and run a "Repair" - the instructions will be remarkably similar to what we did before.

The do a "update" in the Philips Device Manager to be on the safe side.

My creative zen sleek photo mp3 player is not being read by my computer.

Either the device is bad, the pc port is bad, or the software is faulty. Try connecting to different usb port, then a usb port on a different pc with a compatible os. If still not recognized, then there is physical damage to player.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware.
