SOURCE: Frigidair side by side refigerator fan not operating

I do see the power to the evaporator fan section going through the adaptive defrost part number 240554502 It would not hurt to unplug for a few moments and open the control panel inside the fresh food section and examine that control board. With it doing that you may see signs of heat or burn marks on the ADC Let me know, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: Cooling quit suddenly in both

First I would check cold control. Thats where you turn it off, if your temp is not warm. it seems
to be defective and not shutting off. If your temp is warm proceed with the following.
I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath
Check cold control (thats where you turn it colder)

Hi,

If either compressor is running the fan is always on to cool both compressors. As they cycle it is possible the both compressor cycle at the same time and the fan turns off. But it is rare to see this happen. So yes the fans for the compressor does run at the time. I hope this helps, good luck

My refrigerator stops working yesterday. Compressor and compressor fan seems to be working....inside fans are working but its not cooling, freezing or making ice.

Cut everything off for a few minutes then turn it back on and listen for a click from the compressor relay as the compressor tries to start.
Is the compressor motor running. If no check starter/overload relay. The relay is a small usually black cube shaped electrical part plugged into the compressor or wired to it nearby. It may appear burnt or rattle when shaken if it's bad. The two connections should show continuity with an amp meter. If it's good then it's most likely the compressor causing the problem.
Check to see if the condenser fan at the back underneath near the compressor is running. If no check fan.

Are the condenser coils near there warm or room temp. should be warm

Is the evaporator fan in the freezer running. It blows cold air into the fridge side through a damper in the wall between the freezer and fridge. Make sure the damper is open.

Below the evaporator fan is the evaporator coils. Remove the back cover in the freezer to observe the frost pattern. Light frost everywhere(NORMAL) or a partial pattern of ice(LOW ON FREON) or nothing(LOW FREON OR COMPRESSOR PROBLEM).
If it's iced up really heavy you have an auto defrost problem. Melt the ice with a hairdryer and check the defrost system.

Fresh food section warm, freezer is cold

If you check both of the fan motor wires with a meter at the same time , and you get 120 volts , then the fan motor is bad . Do not check to ground , but both wires at the same time . To check the defrost , you will have to turn the timer into defrost , and see if the heater comes on . With no model number , can't give you anymore info . But yes , as simple as replacing the motor .

Running warm. how do I recharge freon?

There are no service valves on refrigerators for charging.(They must be added).
It may not be a refrigerant problem.
Is the freezer fan motor running?
Is there a frost/ice buildup on the back wall of the freezer?
Is the compressor fan motor running?
Is the compressor Running?
These are the first steps to verify before suspecting a refrigerant leak.

Fridge/freezer warm, water puddling underneath

Hi, clicking sound from compressor, means compressor not running (working) compressor overlay relay is what making that clicking sound, possible your compressor have a hard start, you can purchase compressor ( hard start kit ) from appliance store, your fans could be working, but compressor short cycling, you said fan not working? which one inside of ref, or one near to compressor, check fan, remove 2 wires from fan terminal, use ohm tester, place tester lead one on each fan terminal, if you get a beep sound (continuity) fan is o/k, if not, fan burnt out, replace fan, now if compressor is good, fans are good, then check or replace, defrost timer, but before doing any repairs, unplug ref, excessive water is because ref defrosting, because there's no refrigeration, remove your produce, leave ref. off for about an hour, then replug it, let it work for about another hour, then check to see if temp. dropping (colder) maybe you experiencing, low voltage, let me know what happened, then i can tell you exactly, what's the problem. good luck.

Refrigerator warm but freezer still cold

The problem is located in your freezer. It's your evaporator fan motor. You know when you open the freezer, you normally hear a fan running in there? It's not now. That fan circulates cold air around the entire fridge, a small portion of it is ducted into the fresh food section. With the fan not running, the ambient "cold" stays in the freezer drawer. This is NOT an easy fix. The freezer section has to be gutted and the rear panel removed to get to the problem. You may consider hiring a pro to do it for you. The part# is 12002744 and costs about $33.00
