Your camera may be ok. Every and each camera has different reactions to a battery condition depending on the design of the circuit. Your battery may work ok on the other camera but this camera needs more juice (assuming the camera is working ok). If the camera demanding more power from the battery, try the rechargable batteries. Hope this helps. -James
If the Li-Ion battery is original and charged, digital camera may have dc/dc board may be faulty. See if the direct power from ac adapter to DC in socket. Still has a problem, most service facility has free estimate and diagnostics for digital cameras so let them take a look at it physically with their tools.

Check contacts --if good then will need internal circuit test and checked for the failure

Thanks for your quick response, but I am using a rechargable battery, the square black one that comes with the camera.
thanks anyhow

Thanks again James. Unfortunately, I live in Barbados, & there are no facilities here for testing the camera. I have someone who is going to New York, next week, but I have no idea who would be a reputable person to send it to. I have tried contacting Olympus, to get a recommendation, but the phone numbers provided on their brochure, do no work from Barbados, only within US & Canada.
But thanks for all your help
Donna
