You can't bypass it. It need in in all cartridges, even though you are just printing black n white.

If you are using a cartride that has been refilled it may just need recharged. I purchase my cartridges off Ebay and some will not charge, so I just use a small devise, which you can purchase off Ebay, that allows you to reset the cartridge. IF a cartridge does not charge it will not work.

Just turning the printer off, pausing for 30 seconds, then turning it back on should reset it, but I'm sure you have already tried that.

does it state call for servicing if so i have servicing software for all epson even new ones get back to me thanks
