Someone gave me a pronto m51 sure step motorized wheelchair but no manual was given..my question is: Is it safe to charge the battery overnight? Is there any danger of overcharging? If anyone knows for sure please let me know..thanks Margie
Margie, Yes you may charge it overnight. If you use it everyday, charge it every night. Once the charger senses 24 volts it stops sending a charge,so they cannot be overcharged. I suggest when you go to bed put on the charger and unplug it when you get up in the morning.
I also have a Pronto M51 and use it daily. I have found though by leaving the charger plugged in over a weekend, it reduces the battery range and does not come back to normal until I use it for a week and charge it nightly. You can overcharge the batteries because the charger does not shut off entirely. I have monitored this with my meter.
How do i charge my pronto m51. it has a power cord that u plug into the back. do i leave the power turned off on the chair while i charge it? and how long do i charge it for?
ACTUALLY THE PRONTO M51 CAN BE CHARGED 2 WAYS.
THE FIRST WAY IS WITH THE SUPPLIED CORD THAT PLUGS INTO THE ON BOARD CHARGING UNIT LOCATED ON THE REAR SECTION BELOW THE BACK OF THE SEAT AND THEN DIRECTLY INTO THE WALL. (NOTE THIS METHOD DOES NOT NEED A POWER CONVERTER BOX IN BETWEEN THE WALL AND THE ON BOARD CHARGER PORT.
THE SECOND WAY IS BY PURCHASING THE OPTIONAL INDEPENDENT CHARGING UNIT THAT PLUGS INTO THE FRONT OF THE JOYSTICK IN THE ROUND FEMALE RECEPTACLE.

pronto m61 sure step
i HAVE A pRONto A 91 wheel chair. do they still make them
I got a pronto m51 but i had to buy batteries for it. I figured out how to wire the batteries but cant figure out where the onboard charger plugs into the chair so the power from the outlet is able to charge the batteries. I got the plug to the outlet goes to the back of the chair, and connects with 1 end of the charger goes to the charger and out to another cord with a 4 pin square connector. Where does this end plug into so the power gets to the batteries?
