You can transfer only media files (don't know why). To do it, go to media, prees "menu", select "recieve using bluetooth" and after that send from sony ericsson.

How did you Set up Bluetooth on the Sony Ericsson K800i ?was it set up properly?Sony Ericsson K800i has Bluetooth technology, which can connect to other Bluetooth devices like handsfree headsets, or let you easily swap files like pictures, ringtones, videos or contacts with other people for free. It works by looking for other Bluetooth devices nearby and then connects to them to wirelessly transfer files. this is the steps to seeting up bluetooth on k800i sony ericsson
  • From the Menu screen, select Settings
  • Scroll across to the Connectivity tab and select Bluetooth
  • Scroll down to Phone Name and press select
  • Enter the new name for your K800i
  • Once you’ve done this, you can turn Bluetooth on to make you visible to other devices by following these steps
  • From the Menu screen, select Settings
  • Scroll across to the Connectivity tab and select Bluetooth
  • Select Turn On
To connect your Sony Ericsson K800i to a handsfree device, enter the Bluetooth menu screen and select Handsfree, Your phone will then look for a handsfree device to connect to. When it’s found it, select the device and enter the passcode if required

While pairing bluetooth, this asks for numeric key

If it's a new headset, the key will most likely be "0000" (four zeros)

If that helps, please be sure to hit the "thumbs up"
If it doesn't help post back and we can try something else.

Press and hold the 'call' (big) button on your bluetooth device. First it will blinks once, keep holding, then it will turn to steady blue. This is the 'pairing' status. Blackberry won't pair with sony bluetooth

Can you try these steps even if you have already failed - so it is clear exactly where your problem lies and how your blackberry is behaving.

Turn on your Sony device and activate the bluetooth feature, set it to pair or search for a device (if this is a headset, it will search automatically, once it is turned on)

On your Blackberry choose the bluetooth option and enable

At your next prompt, when asked ensure your bluetooth device is in pair mode - Say Yes

It will go through a searching for devices screen

Here you will find a list of bluetooth devices in your range that can be paired - (these devices should include your sony)

If at this point you get a message stating no new devices found - Say Ok

Do you see a list of previously paired devices which includes your Sony?!

Let me know how you get on with the above, and what if any error message you receive.

Blackberry curve won't pair with my bluetooth headset

Hello,

Try the following. Hope this helps.

Okay,

1. Go into "Media" on your BlackBerry and enable incoming files (Menu-->Receive using bluetooth).
2. Find the file on your friend's device that you wish to send, and beam the said file accordingly.
2a. If you have not "paired" (created a friendship between) the two devices before, you will need to do this first...
2b. One of the devices will ask for a PIN code first and on this device you need to create a four-digit, numeric password that can be anything you like.
2c. On the second device, enter the four-digit, numeric password you created and follow the simple, on-screen prompts on both devices to complete the pairing (you can also pair the devices in advance by going into Menu-->Set Up Bluetooth).
2d. Depending on the devices being used and the time taken to complete the pairing, you may need to re-send the file (go back to step 1), otherwise, continue below...
3. When your friend's device tries to send you the file, your BlackBerry should ask you to name the file and where to save it; if you have not set the device as "trusted" in the bluetooth settings (Options-->Bluetooth-->your friend's device), you may need to approve the file transfer first though.
4. The file should now be on your device.

Note: by default, all
* Pictures are saved into /Device Memory/home/user/pictures or /Media Card/BlackBerry/pictures if you have a memory card.

* Sounds (including songs) are saved into /Device Memory/home/user/ringtones/ or /Media Card/BlackBerry/ringtones/ if you have a memory card.

* Videos are saved /Device Memory/home/user/videos or /Media Card/BlackBerry/videos if you have a memory card.

In other words, unless you specify somewhere else in step 3, this is where you will find your file.

And remember, your incoming file transfer WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU FIRST "PAIR" (CREATE A FRIENDSHIP BETWEEN) THE DEVICES, go into Media and CLICK MENU-->RECEIVE USING BLUETOOTH!!!
