Have you checked the door seals on the freezer. sounds like its getting air into the compartment and causing the problem.

Frigidaire upright model ffu21k2cw1 frost on top shelf and not cooling properly

Your unit is not self defrosting so I would suggest you do a manual defrost and see if it corrects the problem.
Also make sure that you have good air flow across the compressor.

Admiral upright freezer dripping water inside on top

Hello.
I can help. Once we notice anything different from before we start becoming more aware of small variations. Regarding things on the top shelf warmer than on the bottom, this is always true because, "warm air rises and cold air falls". If you want the top shelf colder turn the thermostat to the next colder setting, always a good idea in the Summer season anyway.

Even though your gasket looks good, a ten year old gasket is not as pliable as a new one resulting in the moisture problem you describe. I would begin by applying a thin coating of vaseline to the gasket once a week for a month. This little trick of the trade will often work. If it doesn't improve the situation do replace the gasket.

I have a 4yr old 13.7 cubic upright frigidare freezer. Running all the time, I defrosted it recently (only minimal frost/ice on base behind basket) after noting top shelf warmer than others and food...

Hi, Put a thermometer in the freezer and see if it gets down to 0 to 5 above zero. If it is not getting that cold, something is wrong. If you had frost building up behind the rear panel, there is a defrost problem.
Please let me know the temperature and I can assist you further.

Top & middle shelves COVERED with frost/ice, not middle

That is normal. The refrigerant runs through those shelves. They are the evaporator side of the unit. That is where the freezing effect comes from.
Check door seals for leaking air.
Keep door openings to a minimum.
Get in there and get out.
Those things will help prolong frost/ice buildup.

My woods upright freezer keeps frosting up at the top with several inches of frost. It is a manual defrost freezer. Any suggestions?

check your door seal, by closing the door on a strip of newspaper all round the seal. this fault is usually air getting inside the freezer, it rises to the top making thick ice or snow.

Proper temp. range in freezer

Hi dgh1,
The freezer should stay within 5 degrees of 0 while in operation. While in defrost the freezer may reach as high as 20 to 25 degrees. If any higher temperatures are reached your food will spoil as they are defrosted and refroze everyday. If you find that the temperature is allowing your food to defrost you may want to replace your defrost thermostat. This device is located on top of the evaperator coil inside the back of the freezer. It is made to turn the heater off when a temperature of 55 degrees is reached. One other possible problem could be your defrost timer is taking to long to restart the cooling cycle after defrosting. I hope this will help you and please send any other questions you may have, I am happy to help. and dont forget to rate me.

Upright freezer not cooling

The model number would help but it sounds like a sealed system leak or restriction. If thats the case I would not suggest trying this yourself. The water should freeze overnight and the frost should keep going to all the shelfs that have coils in them.
