Trying to unistall k9 however I do not have the password

When you did this did yo get the message that it was uninstalled?
Symptom
You want to uninstall K9 from a Mac computer.
Solution
Note: You must have administrator rights to uninstall K9 Web Protection.

1. Open the [System Preferences] panel.
2. Click the K9 Web Protection icon under the "Other" section at the bottom.
3. Click the [Uninstall] button.
4. When prompted, enter your K9 administrator password and click [OK].
5. You will then be prompted to enter your Mac administrator password.
6. When the uninstall process is complete, you will receive a message saying K9 has been successfully uninstalled.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO UNINSTALL K9 WITHOUT A PASSWORD. By design, K9 will block all web access should anyone attempt to uninstall without using a password. Attempts to modify K9 at the system level will have the same effect.

Hi there! You need the admin password for the K9 for you to be able to access it. Trying to disable K9 from task manager will just make things work because the process is when you type a website it goes to K9 first then checks if it is part of the allowed websites. Disabling it without administrative rights will disable browsing the internet.

K9 web protection cannot be uninstalled without password by the windows utility as it has limited access.Now what you can do is use REVO UNINSTALLER software.The following is the link for downloading the setup file-:

After downloading the setup file install it.Now as soon as you open the revo uninstaller it will show you all the programs installed.Now select K9 web security and then it will give you four options.Select advanced uninstaller and click on next (this might open windws uinstaller again and might ask you for a password as well but just click on cancel).Just after this it will show a screen to delete all the files of k9 from your hard drive and also from your registry.Select all the files and click on delete all.Some of the files might not delete but as soon as you restart the computer K9 will be out of your computer.
Basically it will not uinstall k9 but will delete all the files from your computer and the registry as well.So if there are no files of k9 in the registry that means its out of your computer.

You can find many solutions over the net but dont try it else the internet will be blocked.. just ask for a new password and they will mail you... You need to click on forgot password.

try CCcleaner for that one bro and uninstall the specified software or if you have no choice you can reformat your system or restore your system. God speed....

This is a totally safe way to remove k9 web protection without a password 1.) Go to http://www1.k9webprotection.com and click on the "get license" tab on the left 2.) fill that out and get the license from your email address 3.) In the email there will be a link to download k9 or just type this into the address bar http://www.k9webprotection.com/download/k9-webprotection.exe You'll need this to reinstall k9 just incase you mess something up 4.) Download an older version of k9 web protection I used K9 Web Protection 3.2.36 which you can download from the following link http://www.shinedownload.com/software/K9-Web-Protection/665.html 5.) Access the task manager (ctrl + alt + del), go to the "process" tab, find "k9filter" and end this process of course after this point you won't be able to get on the internet since you just tampered with the program so make sure you've got the license from your email, the k9 installer, the k9 installer for the older version, and these directions on your desktop or something 6.) Go to the folder k9 is installed in ( C:\Program Files/Blue Coat k9 Web Protection/ is where it should be) and delete all the files in the folder, but not the folder itself 7.) Run the installer for the older version of k9 at this point you'll enter your license and create a password 8.) Install it in the folder you emptied earlier 9.) Now you can log on to k9 and change the filtering to whatever you please or just go ahead and uninstall it Now you should be free of that horrible skank of a program If not, then restart your computer.
