display works but the dishwasher functions are all out of synch, or some

If the display lights are flickering for no
reason, the touchpad might need to be replaced. Sometimes when the
touchpad is defective the display lights are flashing

I hate to point out obvious things, but did you crank your line tap all the way out clockwise? And if you are using a line tap, are you sure the piercing needle conpletely punched through the hose?
Try removing the water line from your dishwasher and opening the valve to verify water flow.

Tap symbol indicates a water problem.
Check that the water supply to the dishwasher has been turned on.
Check that the water supply hose hasn't bent or kinked.
Check the water supply first, see what you find.
If you can feel water travelling through the water inlet pipe that means the machine, when first switched on must be doing the following.
Drain pump runs.
Drain pump stops.
Water is heard entering the appliance.

If not, is the drain pump running continuously while it is taking in water?
