We have a Playskool Busy Poppin' Pals (you push various buttons and the animals pop up), and my daughter put a magnetic letter inside, so I tried to take it apart to get the letter out and now I can't seem to get the thing back together. There are 4 plastic things that I can't seem to find the fit for. Can anyone help me put this back together??
My boy put a little car into one of the animals, so I had to open it to have a look. 
i was sressing over not being able to get this based on the prior postings, once i got to see actually how those peices are supposed to go in there to hold the animals, it took a matter of minutes to get this back together! thanks so much fot this!

My girls had put magnet fridge letters (9 of them!!) Inside our toy and I pulled it apart thinking it would be easy... so glad I found this post. As above. Once seeing where they go it was fixed within seconds. Thanks for the original post a fair few years ago. Thanks

*SOLUTION *
Took me an hour to figure this out but - The 4 plastic pieces go on the top piece, not the bottom as would be assumed. The 4 plastic pieces hold the animals in their homes, and go between each holding the pins that rotate as the animal is pushed back in. The toy is better than new!
This one almost had my lunch and was driving me crazy. No solution anywhere on the internet - until now ;-)
Yes, the 4 plastic pieces go in between each of the popup animals. They are used to hold the popup animal piece in place. 5 animals with 4 placed in between. If you look at the space between each animal you'll see that the plastic piece fits down in there perfect. When you put the cover back on the toy it helps hold these plastic pieces in place.

Thank you so much. My daughter had put plastic poker chips in hers to the point that the animals wouldn't close. I also found a price tag, stickers, dry cat food, and a leaf. The little surprises of parenting! I too had gotten stuck at the 4 little white pieces. This post was so helpful.
