This a/c is 3 yrs old. It works fine, but it makes a clanking sound every couple of seconds. Filter is cleaned when ever reset l.e.d. comes on. It has proper installation and proper pitch. Anyone have any ideas as to what's making the noise? p.s. To get the best cooling, what position should the vent be in...lever in, lever out half way, or lever out all the way??
SOURCE: hums and freezes up????
The fan motor must have been stopping. If the fan stops, for sure the fins will freeze because there is no air flowing. common Fan motor problems defective bearing or bushing and starting condenser. If the bearing is defective, it will heat up and seize. Have the fan motor checked. The fact that the fins are freezing, means that there is enough freon and the compressor is working.
SOURCE: Frigidaire air conditioner - no cool air coming out.
if you used it alot, i would check it for freon.
checkthe air filter, make sure it's not dirty.
check the front panel, make sure there's no "ice/frost" in the unit.
SOURCE: window unit not cooling properly, minimal cooling
SOUNDS LIKE ITS LOCKED OUT ON LOW LIMIT OVERLOAD CHARGE THE AC SHOULD START UP WHEN COMPRESSOR GETS AMPLE FREON
SOURCE: Air conditioner isn't blowing cold!
You will need the condenser coils repaired before you can charge it. These come from the factory sealed and they should not ever need a charge unless you have a leak. The hissing sound is more likely air in the system being pumped by the comressor and it is coming out a hole in the coils.
SOURCE: frigidaire in wall air conditioner making noise fan/ motor?
Is it a clicking or banging sound? The fan is most likely not kicking up the moisture to cool the evap coil off enough in the unit so you might here more noise for a little while. Monitor it and let me know if anything changes.
