Just after the warranty ran out my laser beam stopped working. There are 3 separate circuit boards that the beam electronics pass through. Is there an available troubleshooting schematic to follow on this or is anyone aware of a trend of this happening on other units. Some board are more costly to purchase and I would like an idea of which to replace. Help!
Have you tried new batteries first?
I can't answer that except - look for a small removable panel on the unit. You can find it, it will probably have one or two AAA batteries in it.
If it's real small it might have button type batteries.
I've looked at a few models with lasers. There is at least one with batteries. If yours does not have batteries and a laser switch then the bad news - the laser (diode) is probably fried. Everything I read said to only use it for short periods of time. If left on will either shorten life time or burn it out. Sorry, sounds like another "timed built in failure" from the factory.

I wasn't aware that the unit had batteries. Where are they located?
I will check that when I get to my shop. Appreciate the help trsrhntr, all the best.
I am not finding any batteries and no information in my manual concerning changing or replacing batteries.
There are no batteries but there is a laser on/off switch. Also, the saw works but both of the led indicators for saw and compound angles do not light up as well as the laser led.
Where is the on/off switch located?
