Z4MPlus Ribbon wrinkles causing lines diagonally across label.

Using 4.0" label. When printing the ribbon wrinkles immedietly. If in pause and manually feed labels (no printing) the ribbon does not wrinkle. Per lousy users manual I have checked ribbon routing, burn temp, uneven head pressure and media feed. The rest of the manual says to contact a technician for strip plate adjust, print head vertical adjust, printhead & platen roller alignment.
Any other suggestions???

99% of ribbon wrinkle issues are caused by too much darkness and strip plate.

Could be down to tension on the ribbon roller/spool. Check to see if you have pulled out the end part of the spool (black bit) that should ensure there is back tension on the ribbon.

Intermec PX4i label printer. Paper/Ribbon loaded correctly, but ribbon is 'rippled' meaning barcode label being printed has white lines across it. Any ideas?

Ribbon Wrinkle as it called can be caused due to the main feed rollers (that touch the ribbon or the label) being slightly worn. Even if you have a sligh gradient on the roller(s) it will pull ever so slightly to one side. If you need the parts then please do not hesitate to contavct me. Jack Woodworth - Codeo UK, 01179064587

I have z4mplus recently i changed print head , fonts are complete one blank line is same place for any priting

If the blank line is vertical (parallel to the print direction) then
Either the head is damaged at this point (dots missing) or you have something on the ribbon which prevents the head from doing the transfer.
Or the ribbon is faulty and you have to change the ribbon

We are having trouble while printing bar coded labels, there are streaks going across the label what can stop this from happening?

If streaks are perfectly vertical and always present, probably your printhead is scratched and needs to be replaced. Unless the streaks are diagonal and intermittent - then you need adjustment for ribbon wrinkle.

When I print my labels, there are lines that run through it

The lines(voids) are being caused by elements that are worn off the printhead. No energy is getting there to release the ribbon, causing a void area. To see the full extent, just create a label, using your widest label, that prints a thick black line. You will easily see the "void" areas as white lines.

This is common over time due to the constant contact with the ribbon. The elements wear down just like the tires on a car from the constant contact with the road.

The only way to correct is to install a new printhead.

Constant wrinkle in the print. tried different

Usually a ribbon wrinkle is caused by an imbalance across the printhead. There is more pressure on one side of the ribbon then the other (if using a ribbon across the whole web). Check the printhead pressure adjustment dials located on top of the printhead. One side may be "down" more then the other.

Hope that helps !

Wrinkles in ribbon using Datamax H-4212 printer

Definitely. possible solution match the width of your label and ribbon. if your ribbon is wider for .5 inch it should be good.
1. check your spindle alignment, printhead alignment and rotate the green knob on the printhead while printing so that you'll see the difference.

Ribbon wrinkles when printing barcodes

This is usually caused by temperature of the thermal print head. This is found in the printing preferences of the printer.

Zebra z4mplus

iN THE DRIVER CHECK THE head TEMPERATURE ISSUE. Most certainly you do not heat enough to do the transfer.
Else your ribbon is not mounted correctly. Zebra has an out inking transfer film

Possible print head failure

to test , press pause botton and turn on (press 5 sec.)
he print a "pause test".
check if print, if stop on ich gap and if come some lines across the print (if apear some lines, need new print head.) this step just pause wen print some labels, and then still print until turn off.
Turn off and turn on the printer to work normal.

To calibrate media, go on the setings to "sensor profile" and/or "run manual calibration, follow the steps. (dont forget to take the ribbon from the sensor.)
let the test run until finish.
