I have been trying to install a hp photosmart printer onto a acer

You can download the Acer drivers onto your HP laptop and then copy these drivers to an USB memory stick or burn the drivers onto a CD and then install these drivers in the Acer using the USB memory stick or the CD.

HP Photosmart 1218 scanner would send photos to Outlook Express by opening email with access to all my addresses in OE. How can I have access to OE addresses with my new HP Photosmart Prem C310a all in one?

You probably need to uninstall and re-install the Latest Drivers for your printer

To uninstall you can do it from the Software disk you recieved with printer.
Insert the Disk in CD ROM and Click uninstall from HP Printer Menu

OR If you dont have the disk, you need to manually uninstall the Software
( Disconnect the USB cord before uninstalling )

Click START - Open Control panel - Add/remove Programs ( XP ) / Or Programs and FEatures ( Vista/Win 7 )
you will find list of HP Programs installed..

Choose one by one and uninstall these programs
1. HP Customer participation program
2. HP Imaging Device and software
3. Software and drivers for Photosmart 3200
4. HP Solution Center or HP Director
5. HP Image Zone ( or Image Zone Express / HP Photosmart Essential )
6. HP Update
7. HP Printer Drivers/Diagnostic Drivers
( after every Uninstall you will be prompted to restart the PC, you will find an option [ Click here to restart later ]. click on it and restart the PC once you completed uninstalling all the above programs )

Save this File on Desktop an run it

You need to use the grey cd to install the software onto your Mac if you have not already done so. If you don't have the Mac CD you can download the installation software and all drivers from HP here (select your operating system first).

If you have installed it aready, try uninstalling and then reinstalling using the HP website to obtain the updated drivers etc. rather than your CD.

Once you have uninstalled the software, disconnect your printer and then restart your computer. Do not re-connect your printer until you have reinstalled the software.

To verify that the software has installed properly, look for the HP Solution Centre on your desktop, double click on the icon and check that both "scan picture" and |"scan document" are showing.

Many issues are caused when the HP Photosmart is connected to computer using a USB cable before the HP Photosmart software is installed on the computer. IF you connected the HP Photo smart to your computer before the software installation screen prompts you to do so, you must follow these steps.

Troubleshooting common setup issues :
1) Discoonect the USB cable from the computer.
2) Uninstall the software (if you have already installed it.)
3) Restart you computer.
4) Turn off the HP Photosmartm wait one minute then turn it on.
5) Reinstall the HP Photosmart software.

If your installation is incomplete, or if you connected the USB cable to the computer before prompted by the software installation screen, you might need to uninstall and reinstall the software. Do not simply delete the Hp Photosmart application files from your computer. Make sure to remove them properly using the uninstall utility provided when you installed the software that came with the HP Photosmart.

To uninstall from a Window computer and then reinstall
1) On the Windows taskbar, click Start, Settings, Control Panel (or just Control Panel).
2) Double-click Add/Remove Programs (or click Uninstall a program).
3) Select HP Photosmart Driver Software, and then click Change/ Remove.
Follow the onscreen instructions.
4) Disconnect the HP Photosmart from your computer.
5) Restart your computer.
Note : It is important to that you disconnect the HP Photosmart before restaring your computer. Do not connect the HP Photosmart to your computer untill after you have reinstalled the software.
6) Insert the HP Photosmart CD-ROM into your computer's CD-ROM drive and then start the Setup program,
7) Follow the onscreen instructions and the instructions provided in the Setup Guide that came with the HP Photosmart.

you will need to chose your operating system on the first page.
the second page has the drivers. personally i always download the full software and drivers together (they include the extra software to edit photos and stuff)
download them to your desktop (so you can find them) double click on the icon it creates to start the install, follow the prompts, restart the computer when asked..

You probably have a bad driver or disk. Your best bet is to use the following link: http://www.bioticaindia.com/photosmart-3180.html
Scroll down to the bottom and click download. It asks you for your email to send a link. Once it downloads you may need to unzip it (I would put it in it's own folder). Make sure you choose to download to your desktop so you can find it. Then go to your printers folder and "add printer" and when the option appears choose "Have Disk" and point it to the folder you created. If this driver is not good I would go to the HP site and search for the driver there. I hope this helps.

hmmm...ok...let's try this...insert the CD..and then, when it asks for an installation option, do a repair, instead of a new install. Got backup?

   6. Go to Properties
   7. Hit Stop
   8. In Service Status click Disable
   9. Ok
