Any LCD tv will be compactable to DVD players, provided the color system to both are compactable.

When playing a DVD, my Bose 3-2-1 DVD player's picture is not connecting to my Vizio Smart TV, only the sound.

  1. Make sure the video cables are properly connected. The cables that connect the DVD player to the TV should be securely plugged into the correct ports on each device. Double-check that the cables are not loose or damaged.
  2. Check the input source on your TV. Make sure the TV is set to the correct input source that the DVD player is connected to. For example, if the DVD player is connected to HDMI 1, then the TV should be set to HDMI 1 as well.
  3. Check the TV's settings. Some TVs have a "picture in picture" or "picture by picture" feature that may be turned on, preventing the main picture from showing.
  4. Check the DVD player's settings. Some DVD players have a setting that controls the aspect ratio of the picture. Make sure this is set correctly for your TV.
  5. Check the TV and DVD player compatibility. Some TV's are not compatible with older DVD players and this could be the reason for the lack of picture.

Dvd playing in black and white only???

Most commonly with this unit there is a compatibility issue with PALS or NTSC Formatting. Make sure the DVD player, DVD itself and the TV unit are all compatible. Also, since this unit commonly comes with the Standard Red, White, and Yellow Video/Audio Cables, Try switching to the Composite Cables. (Red, Green, and Blue-generally). This should fix the incompatibility issue. Hope this helps

Could you recommend a range of DVD player / recorders to go with the product below. Im on Foxtel and thinking Blu ray ... but have been told that my TV may not be entirely compatible

How old is your TV?Flat screens should not have a compatibility issue with the recorder, however, for a DVD recorder, you need one either with a digital tuner or a cable wire into cable box into DVD recorder into TV,to create the digital input. That is all I can think of that they may be talking about.Who told you about a compatibility issue?Good luck!

S-video setting on DVD not compatible with older TV

I recommend the obvious solution which is to plug it into an S-Video compatible TV, VCR or DVD player then change your settings. You could make it really for yourself if you want by looking for some software that you burn onto a CD which you make bootable and when you run it in the player it resets everything to factory default settings. But seriously make it easy on yourself and just plug it into an S-Video compatible device (TV/VCR/DVD, preferably a TV for ease, though it doesn't make any real difference). Best of luck to you anyway!

RCA 20" TV/DVD Combo - DVD Player says discs not compatible?

Does it work on store bought DVD's?If it does it means it's not compatable with homemade dvd's on pc's or other recorders. If it dose not you have a dirty lens.If a lens cleaning cd doesn't work, the dvd deck has to be replaced, probably exspensive.

No sound

If the tv does not have sound with out connecting the dvd then you are having a problem in your audio circuit have a tech look at it.if its only when you connect the dvd then you could have connect cables wrong.you cannot route a dvd through a cable box.any dvd s compatible with tv so long as the connections are there. goodluck.
